Head Speed One X Padel Racket 2025

£141.22

The Head Speed One X padel racket is the heavier version of HEAD's single-hole Speed One: a 365 g teardrop with a 2D carbon face, Power Foam and a 270 mm balance, built for advanced and tournament players who like the One's quick, all-court feel but want more weight behind the ball.

HEAD sells it as the Speed One with 20 g added. That's the whole difference on paper, and Padelful's scores show what 20 g does: a touch more power and sweet spot, a little less speed through the air.

What the X adds to the Speed One

HEAD's sheet for the One X matches the single-hole Speed One almost line for line: a teardrop, 38 mm thick, 270 mm balance, a 2D carbon face with HEAD's One single-hole design, Power Foam, a Graphene Inside frame, Auxetic 2.0 in the throat, the Extreme Spin finish, Smart Bridge, DAMP Plus damping, an anti-shock skin and the Soft Butt Cap 2.0. The difference is mass: 365 g against 345 g, both with HEAD's 10 g tolerance.

Those 20 g change who the racket is for. The Speed One is light enough to whip round at the net and asks a lot of your timing. The One X keeps the same balance point but adds weight right through the frame, so it's steadier against heavy balls and drives through the court more, at the cost of a slightly slower swing. HEAD labels it advanced only.

Paired bar chart of Padelful scores: the Head Speed One X scores 8.9 power, 8.8 control, 9.1 manoeuvrability, 8.2 sweet spot and 7.4 rebound, against the Speed One at 8.7, 9.1, 10, 7.9 and 7.6

Twenty grams buys a little power and sweet spot, costs some speed. Padelful scores out of 10, 2025 models, read 2026-10-28. Padelful does not say whether each figure is measured or estimated.

How it plays

Padelful scores the One X 8.9 for power, 8.8 for control and 9.1 for manoeuvrability, with a medium-hard touch and an overall 8.5. Against the Speed One it gains a little power and sweet spot and gives back manoeuvrability, where the lighter racket scores a perfect 10. Rebound is low at 7.4: the face doesn't hand you free pace, so blocks and soft defensive balls need a proper swing.

That suits a player who already hits through the ball from the back and finishes at the net with flat smashes and víboras, and who found the 345 g Speed One a shade too light to hold its line against hard hitters. If your racket is already 370 g, the One X will feel quick; if you're coming from 350 g, give it a few sessions.

One X or another Speed?

The Speed family runs from the 355 g Speed Motion up to the 370 g Speed Pro, which shares the One X's 270 mm balance on a Hybrid Woven face and has a livelier rebound. The older Speed Pro X goes heavier again on 12K carbon. If it's the One X idea you like in a diamond, HEAD's Extreme One X is the 370 g, single-hole version of that shape.

Not for you if

You're still building your swing, you rely on the racket for free pace when defending, or 365 g of carbon would be a big jump from what you play now. A lighter Speed or a softer face will suit you better.

Setting it up

Tape the top of the frame with a strip from the racket protector range and keep a tacky overgrip on from padel grips; at 365 g a racket that twists in a sweaty hand costs you control. A firm ball such as the Head Pro S+ tube suits a medium-hard face, with more on padel balls. Stable court shoes from padel shoes help when you push off for the smash. The whole range is on padel rackets, the shape is explained on teardrop padel rackets, and the advanced padel rackets page covers the level.

Head Speed One X Padel Racket 2025: questions people ask

Is the Head Speed One X the same as the Speed One?

Nearly. Both are 2D carbon teardrops with a single hole, Power Foam and a 270 mm balance. The One X weighs 365 g against the Speed One's 345 g.

Is the Head Speed One X suitable for intermediate players?

HEAD labels it advanced. A strong intermediate who already swings through the ball can manage it; most intermediates will be better with the lighter Speed One or the Speed Motion.

Head Speed One X or Speed Pro: which should I buy?

Both balance at 270 mm. The Speed Pro is 370 g on a Hybrid Woven face with more rebound, 9.0 on Padelful; the One X is 365 g on 2D carbon with a single hole and less free pace.

How do I protect the Speed One X carbon frame?

Fit a protector strip on the top of the frame, keep the racket in a cover inside a thermal bag, and avoid scraping it on the floor to pick up balls.

How heavy is the Head Speed One X 2025?

HEAD lists 365 g with a 10 g tolerance, so between 355 and 375 g out of the box, balancing at 270 mm.
