Head Speed Pro Padel Racket 2025
£152.84
The Head Speed Pro padel racket is the heavy, attacking end of Head's all-round Speed family: a 370 g teardrop on Power Foam with a Hybrid Woven face and a 270 mm balance, for advanced players who want pace without giving up a teardrop's control. Head pitches it at tournament players who like to speed the game up.
Head renews the Speed family every other year, so this 2025 edition is the current Speed Pro through the 2026 season.

Which level is the Head Speed Pro 2025 Padel Racket for?
By Tushan Das, Owner, Padel Depot · Updated
A teardrop for players who would otherwise buy a diamond
Most 370 g, head-heavy rackets are diamonds. The Speed Pro keeps the teardrop head, which puts the sweet spot a little lower and more central, and loads it with power hardware instead: Power Foam in the core, a Hybrid Woven carbon and fibreglass face, Graphene Inside in the frame for stability, and a 270 mm balance. Tennis Warehouse Europe sums up Head's description well: balanced and versatile, but power-oriented, with the power kept fully under control.
Head also fits a DAMP Plus insert in the yoke, which it says isolates vibration before it reaches the grip, plus Auxetic 2.0 for feedback, a replaceable Anti-Shock Skin on the frame and its two-part Soft Butt Cap 2.0.
Head Speed Pro review: what the scores say
Padelful's numbers are unusually even: 9.0 for rebound, 8.7 for manoeuvrability, 8.6 for control, 8.4 for power and 8.4 for sweet spot, with a medium touch and an overall 8.6. There is no weak score, which is exactly what an all-rounder should look like, and Padelful calls it a fit for advanced players seeking power and control.
The 9.0 rebound is the interesting one. Power Foam under a woven face gives the ball a lively exit, so blocks and half-volleys travel without much effort, and the 270 mm balance adds weight to the overhead. What it won't do is forgive a beginner's swing; at 370 g it still wants a fast, early contact.

Speed Pro vs Radical Pro: two 370 g teardrops
Head makes two heavy teardrops, and they pull in opposite directions. The Radical Pro puts its balance at 260 mm on Control Foam with a 3K double carbon face, for precision players. The Speed Pro sits 10 mm further up the frame on Power Foam, for attackers. Same weight, same shape family, very different rackets.
If you are torn, think about the last match you lost. Too many balls that didn't put the point away? The Speed Pro. Too many unforced errors? The Radical Pro, or its lighter sibling the Radical Motion.

Where the Speed Pro sits in the Head Speed family
Every Speed is a teardrop, and the family climbs from the soft Evo Speed through the fibreglass Speed Team and the carbon-and-fibreglass Speed Motion to the light carbon Speed One, its heavier 365 g sibling the Speed One X, and then this racket. Above it, the older Speed Pro X adds 5 g and a 12K carbon face for players who want even more punch.
If you like the Speed Pro's idea but not its weight, the Speed Motion is the one to try: lighter, still head-heavy, still Power Foam. The Speed Motion 2023 is the previous generation and scores almost the same on Padelful. Want a diamond instead? Head's Coello Pro is the same weight with Arturo Coello's name on it.

Is the Speed Pro right for you?
It suits an advanced player, someone who plays several times a week, trusts their overhead and wants a racket that helps them press without becoming as unforgiving as a diamond. Head labels it advanced and nothing else, and that's fair. The advanced padel rackets page explains the level in practice.
Not for you if
You are in your first two seasons, you mostly defend, or your arm tires on heavy rackets. At 370 g with the weight up the frame, it asks for strength and timing. The Speed Motion, or a softer racket from the teardrop padel rackets range, is the gentler route into the same family.
Kit for a Speed Pro player
Keep the Anti-Shock Skin on and add extra tape from the racket protector range if you play a lot of balls off the glass. A fresh Head Xtreme Soft overgrip helps a heavy racket stay put in the hand; the padel grips page explains thickness.
Pace-minded players usually prefer a livelier ball, so a Head Pro S+ dozen suits it on cold UK courts; the padel balls page explains why. The Head Pro X racket bag XL carries rackets, shoes and kit, and a supportive shoe from padel shoes matters when you push off for the smash.
