Head Radical Pro Padel Racket 2026

£152.49

The Head Radical Pro padel racket is the heaviest racket in Head's 2026 Radical family: a 370 g carbon teardrop on Control Foam with an even 260 mm balance, built for advanced players who win points with placement rather than pace. Head aims it at tournament players with a tactical game.

It's a precise, firm racket that doesn't pretend otherwise. Padelful puts it near the top for control and some way down for free power, and that trade is the whole decision.

How the Radical Pro plays

Padelful gives the 2026 Radical Pro 9.5 for control, 8.9 for sweet spot, 8.3 for manoeuvrability, and 7.9 for both power and rebound, with a hard feel and an overall 8.5. Its reviewer calls it a control-first racket with a firm personality and would put it in the hands of advanced players who win points with structure, not chaos. That's a good description of how it feels on court: blocks and volleys stay where you aim them, and the ball comes off the face exactly as hard as you hit it.

The flip side is in the same review. Late contact gets punished, free power is limited, and a mishit tells you about it. Head's 2026 changes point at precision too: a new hole pattern that Padel Addict says enlarges the sweet spot, a reworked Control Foam, Auxetic 2.0 in the frame, and a soft butt cap with a swappable wrist cord.

Low, medium or even? The 260 mm balance

Shops describe this racket's balance three different ways. Head gives 260 mm and calls the weight evenly distributed; Tennis Nuts lists it as low balance, head light; we file it under medium. They're all describing the same 260 mm, and the useful way to read it is by comparison. Head's other heavy rackets sit higher: 265 mm on the round Gravity Pro, 270 mm on the Speed Pro, 272 mm on the Coello Pro. So the Radical Pro carries its 370 g closer to your hand than any of those three, which helps explain why Padelful finds it agile at the net for such a heavy frame.

Is the extra 15 g worth it over the Radical Motion?

For a strong player, usually yes. The lighter Radical Motion 2026 shares the teardrop, the 260 mm balance and the Control Foam at 355 g, with a Double Carbon HS face. On Padelful the Pro scores higher for control (9.5 against 8.9) and power (7.9 against 7.5); the Motion wins on manoeuvrability (8.9 against 8.3) and rebound. Extra mass makes the Pro steadier against a heavy ball; the Motion gets back into position faster.

If you have shoulder or elbow trouble, or you are not yet hitting the ball cleanly every time, take the Motion, the fibreglass Radical Team or the softer 2024 Radical Elite. The Pro's firmness is easier to admire than to live with when your timing is off.

The Radical Pro against Head's other heavy rackets

Put five of Head's heaviest rackets on Padelful's power and control scores and they spread out neatly. The Radical Pro and Gravity Pro both run Control Foam and sit at the control end. The Speed Pro is the all-rounder in the middle. The diamond Coello Pro and Extreme Pro are Power Foam attackers that score high on both axes, but only for players who can swing a head-heavy frame early and hard.

Who should look elsewhere

Most club players. The Radical Pro is labelled advanced by Head and plays like it, and a weekly social player gets more from a softer frame. The advanced padel rackets page explains what that label means, and control padel rackets lines up gentler options from every brand. If you like the idea of a firm control teardrop from a smaller maker, Akkeron's Spanish-made Black Diablo Pro teardrop sits in the same territory with a medium-hard EV30 core.

Not for you if

You want easy power off a flat swing, a soft and forgiving feel, or a racket that hides late contact. Padelful lists all three as what this racket does not do. The Speed Pro or a lighter frame from the teardrop padel rackets range will be kinder.

Grip, tape and a ball to match

A heavy control racket only works if your hand stays put on it, so fit a fresh overgrip from padel grips and change it as soon as it turns slick; players who want their fingers in exactly the same place every time fit a Bullpadel Hesacore under it. Tape the top of the frame with a strip from the racket protector range before the first session.

For indoor courts or summer evenings, the Head Pro+ dozen is Head's control ball and suits this racket's game; on cold winter courts, the firmer Pro S+ keeps rallies moving, and the padel balls page explains the difference. Pick a bag from padel bags and a stable shoe from padel shoes, browse every model under padel rackets, and read our guide on how to choose a padel racket if you're weighing shape against balance.

Head Radical Pro Padel Racket 2026: questions people ask

Is the Head Radical Pro padel racket the same as the Radical Pro tennis racket?

No. Head uses the Radical name for both a tennis racquet and a padel range. The padel Radical Pro 2026 is a 370 g solid-faced teardrop with a foam core and no strings; search for "Head Radical Pro padel" to find it.

What level is the Head Radical Pro for?

Advanced, on Head's own label. It suits competitive players who build points with placement and can generate their own pace. Intermediates usually get on better with the 355 g Radical Motion or the fibreglass Radical Team.

Head Radical Pro or Coello Pro: which suits an advanced player?

It depends how you win points. The Radical Pro is a 260 mm teardrop on Control Foam, scored 9.5 for control and 7.9 for power on Padelful. The Coello Pro is a 272 mm diamond on Power Foam, scored 9.9 for both, and needs a fast, early swing. Placement players take the Radical, smashers the Coello.

Is the Head Radical Pro hard on the arm?

It has a hard feel and Padelful notes the firmness can be demanding over a long session. A fresh overgrip, good technique and not stepping up from a much lighter racket overnight all help. Players with elbow trouble should try the lighter Radical Motion first.

How heavy is the Head Radical Pro 2026, and what is its balance?

Head lists 370 g with a 10 g tolerance and a 260 mm balance, which it describes as evenly distributed. The profile is 38 mm and the head is 461 cm².

What is new on the 2026 Radical Pro?

Head redrilled the face with a new hole pattern, which Padel Addict says enlarges the sweet spot, updated the Control Foam, and added a soft butt cap with an exchangeable wrist cord. The Pro shares that technology with the Radical Motion.
