Head Radical Motion Padel Racket 2026

£109.99

The Head Radical Motion padel racket is Head's lighter control teardrop for intermediate and advanced players who win with placement: 355 g, a double carbon face over Control Foam, and a 260 mm balance that keeps it quick at the net. Head pitches it at tactical players who like to set the rhythm of a rally.

Its weakness is honest and easy to state. It gives you very little free power, so you will need to bring your own.

A tactician's racket: what the Radical Motion is built for

Head's description is aimed at a particular kind of player: advanced and tournament players with a tactical style, who want to control the timing and the rhythm of the game. The racket's job is to put the ball exactly where you choose, again and again, and to get back into position quickly enough to do it on the next ball too.

Everything in the build points that way. A teardrop head with a low-ish 260 mm balance keeps it manoeuvrable. Two layers of carbon on the face add touch. Control Foam, which Head says gives a drier, stiffer impact, keeps the ball from flying, and Graphene in the frame adds stability. For 2026 Head redrilled the face to enlarge the sweet spot, a change it shares with the heavier Pro.

Head Radical Motion 2026 review: the scores and the feel

Padelful's 2026 scores are about as balanced as a control racket gets: 8.9 for control, 8.9 for manoeuvrability, 8.8 for sweet spot, 8.2 for rebound and 7.5 for power, with a hard touch. Its reviewer calls it a control-first racket with enough bite to keep the attack honest, one that asks for clean mechanics and rewards them.

That 7.5 is the number to think about. Padel Addict's launch coverage says the lighter weight means it sacrifices a little power, and Padelful lists easy power and a softer touch as what you give up. Accelerate properly and there's enough pace to finish a volley; arrive late and the ball just sits up nicely for the other pair.

Radical Motion or Radical Pro?

The Radical Pro is the same idea at 370 g with the same 260 mm balance and a 3K double carbon face. Padelful scores the Pro a little higher for control and power (9.5 and 7.9 against the Motion's 8.9 and 7.5). Tennis Warehouse Europe describes the Motion simply as the lighter, more manoeuvrable of the two.

Fifteen grams is a lot on a control racket. The Pro holds its line better against heavy balls; the Motion gets to more of them. If you are a strong, tall player who wants maximum precision, the Pro. If you play a lot of fast exchanges at the net, or you're lighter, the Motion. Below both sits the fibreglass Radical Team, more comfortable and aimed at club players, and the Radical Team Light for those who want the lightest frame in the range. From the previous generation, the fibreglass Radical Elite 2024 still scores 9.7 for control on Padelful.

Radical Motion vs Gravity Pro and Speed Motion

Head offers three different routes to a controlled game, and it is worth knowing which one you want before you buy. The round Gravity Pro is the most defensive, with the most central sweet spot. The Radical Motion is a teardrop, so it reaches further for volleys and gives a little more overhead. And the Speed Motion, Head's all-rounder, swaps Control Foam for Power Foam and a head-heavy balance if you want more free pace; its 370 g big brother, the Speed Pro, goes further still.

Who should skip the Radical Motion

Beginners, mainly. The teardrop is forgiving enough, but the hard touch and the lack of free power make it hard work if your swing is still developing. The best padel rackets for intermediate players page covers softer options at the level below.

Not for you if

You want the racket to do the work on your smash, you play once a week, or you prefer a soft, cushioned feel. A hard-touch control teardrop rewards technique and gives little back to a late swing. Look at the teardrop padel rackets range for softer frames.

Grip, protection and the right ball

Control players live on a reliable grip. Fit a fresh overgrip, such as the Head Prime Tour 12-pack, and change it before it goes smooth; our padel grips page explains thickness. Tape the top of the frame with a strip from the padel racket protector range.

A control racket and a control ball make a sensible pair indoors or in summer: the Head Pro+ dozen is Head's thinner-walled control ball, and the padel balls page explains when the faster Pro S+ is better. Carry it all in something from the padel bag range, and wear a stable court shoe from padel shoes.

Head Radical Motion Padel Racket 2026: questions people ask

Is the Head Radical Motion the same as the Radical Pro?

No, but they are close. Both are 2026 teardrops with a 260 mm balance and Control Foam. The Pro weighs 370 g with a 3K double carbon face; the Motion is 355 g and quicker in the hand. Padelful scores the Pro a little higher for control and power.

What level is the Head Radical Motion padel racket for?

Intermediate to advanced, as Head labels it, and particularly tactical players who win with placement. Beginners will find the hard touch and limited free power hard work.

Radical Motion or Gravity Pro: which is better for control?

Both are Head control rackets on Control Foam. The Gravity Pro is round and 365 g, with the most central sweet spot, ideal for defenders. The Radical Motion is a lighter 355 g teardrop with a 260 mm balance, better for fast exchanges at the net.

How do I look after a Head Radical Motion?

Tape the top of the frame, keep it in a cover away from heat, and wipe the face after damp sessions. Change the overgrip regularly; on a control racket a slipping hand costs more than anything else. Head's swappable wrist cord can be replaced if it frays.

How heavy is the Head Radical Motion 2026?

Head lists 355 g with a 10 g tolerance either way, a 260 mm balance and a 38 mm profile.

Does the Radical Motion have enough power?

It is a control racket, so not much is free. Padelful scores power at 7.5 and Padel Addict says the lighter build sacrifices a little power. With a full, fast swing there is enough pace to finish points; if you want more help, the Speed Motion is Head's all-round alternative.
