Head Radical Team Padel Racket 2026

£113.74

The Head Radical Team padel racket is the fibreglass control teardrop in HEAD's 2026 Radical range: 360 g, a low 255 mm balance and Control Foam, for intermediate players who win points with placement and want a racket that forgives the shots they don't strike cleanly.

Padelful scores its sweet spot 9.0, joint best in the Radical family, and its power 6.8, the lowest. Both numbers tell you the same thing about who should buy it.

A control racket that lets you off

Control rackets often ask a lot of you. The Radical Pro is 370 g of 3K carbon with a hard feel, and it rewards clean, committed swings. The Radical Team keeps the same idea, a teardrop built around Control Foam, but swaps the carbon face for fibreglass and drops the balance to 255 mm. That puts the weight close to your hand, so the head comes round quickly at the net and a mistimed volley still lands somewhere sensible.

Padelful's review picks out the same strengths: a huge, forgiving sweet spot, quick handling at the net and well-controlled bandejas and viboras. HEAD's sheet says the new drilling pattern and Control Foam give a drier, firmer feel at impact. Padelful calls it medium-hard but also lists 'not a firm, direct feel' among the cons, so read it as firm for fibreglass rather than firm like the Pro.

Radical Team 20266.89.0
Radical Pro 20267.98.9
Radical Elite 20246.99.0
Radical Motion 20267.58.8

Joint-biggest sweet spot in the family, least free power. Scores out of 10 from Padelful's review of each racket. Higher = bigger sweet spot; further right = more power.

The price of all that forgiveness

Smashing is where you feel it. With 6.8 for power on Padelful and the weight sitting low, the Radical Team won't put a ball over the fence for you; Padelful's own phrase is that smashes need your own pace. If you finish points with a flat smash from the service line, you'll be working harder than you would with a diamond.

Most club players don't, though. They win points by keeping the ball low, waiting for the short lob and then placing the bandeja, and that's exactly where this racket is at its best.

Radical Team or another Radical?

HEAD renewed the Radical line for 2026 and the four models are easy to tell apart once you look at the face and balance. The Radical Motion is the lighter carbon option at 355 g and 260 mm, with more pop and a firmer feel. The Pro is the heaviest and most precise. The Radical Team Light is a 340 g round racket for newer players. And last season's Radical Elite 2024 is the closest relative: another fibreglass control teardrop with almost identical Padelful scores.

Who should look at something else

Attackers, first. If your game is built on the smash, a diamond from diamond padel rackets will give you the free power this racket deliberately holds back. Players who like a crisp, direct strike will find fibreglass too muted and should go to the Motion. Complete beginners can manage it, but the round Team Light or a starter from the best padel racket for beginners page is lighter and easier still.

Not for you if

You finish points with heavy smashes, you want a firm, direct carbon feel, or you need the lightest racket you can find. Padelful is clear that this one is about placement and forgiveness.

Setting up a Radical Team

A control racket wants a handle that doesn't twist, so start with a fresh overgrip; the HEAD Padel Pro three-pack is thin and tacky, and padel grips has drier options. Run HEAD protection tape along the top of the frame before its first game.

The Head Pro+ dozen is HEAD's control ball and a natural match; padel balls explains the faster ones for cold courts. Carry it in a Head Tour racquet pack or anything from padel bags, and pick shoes from padel shoes. Other teardrops are on teardrop padel rackets, the full range is under padel rackets, and the guide to choosing a padel racket explains balance from scratch.

Head Radical Team Padel Racket 2026: questions people ask

Is the Head Radical Team the same as the Radical Team Light?

No. The Radical Team 2026 is a 360 g fibreglass teardrop with a 255 mm balance. The Team Light is a 340 g round racket with a higher 270 mm balance, made for newer and lighter players.

Is the Head Radical Team 2026 good for intermediate players?

Yes, it is built for them. The low balance and fibreglass face make it forgiving and quick at the net, and Padelful rates its sweet spot 9.0. Players who rely on heavy smashes may want more power.

Head Radical Team or Radical Motion: which should I choose?

The Radical Team is fibreglass, 360 g and 255 mm: more forgiving, less power. The Radical Motion is Double Carbon HS, 355 g and 260 mm: quicker, with a firmer feel and more pop. Pick the Team for comfort and control, the Motion if you want carbon.

What balance is the Head Radical Team 2026?

HEAD's sheet gives 255 mm from the butt, which is a low, head-light balance. It is the lowest of the 2026 Radical rackets.

How do I keep a Head Radical Team in good condition?

Keep it in a cover and out of hot cars, which soften the foam, tape the top of the frame against the glass, and change the overgrip as soon as it loses its tack.
