Head Extreme One X Padel Racket 2025

£169.49

The Head Extreme One X padel racket is HEAD's heavier take on the Extreme One: a 370 g diamond with a 12K carbon face, Power Foam inside and a 270 mm balance, made for advanced and tournament players who attack from the net and want the racket's mass behind every smash.

HEAD sells it as a version of the Extreme One built for stronger players. At the same weight and balance as the 2026 Extreme Pro, the real choice for most buyers is between the two faces.

A 370 g diamond with an all-carbon face

The face is 12K carbon throughout, which is stiffer than the carbon and fibreglass weaves HEAD uses on its other 370 g diamonds. Stiff means the ball leaves quickly when you hit it properly and gives you little back when you don't. Power Foam behind it is HEAD's livelier core, and the Extreme Spin finish roughens the face for slice and kick. The frame is carbon with a 38 mm profile, the head is 494 cm² and the racket is 45.5 cm long.

HEAD lists 370 g with a 10 g tolerance and the balance at 270 mm from the butt, 42.5 mm past the middle of the racket. That's where the One X gets its punch overhead, and why it's slower to bring up for a quick volley than a lighter frame. Like the Extreme One, it has a single hole in the face. HEAD also builds Auxetic 2.0 into the throat and grip, plus an anti-shock skin and its Soft Butt Cap + cord system.

One X, Extreme Pro or Coello Pro?

HEAD makes three 370 g Power Foam diamonds, and on paper they're close. The 2026 Extreme Pro matches the One X's 270 mm balance on a Hybrid Woven face of carbon and fibreglass, so it gives a touch more feel and forgiveness. Arturo Coello's Coello Pro sits 2 mm further up at 272 mm on Carbon Hybrid HS. On paper, the One X has the stiffest face of the three. Pick it if you hit a clean, early ball and want the face to stay firm on contact, not flex.

Its own sibling, the 350 g Extreme One, shares the 12K face and single hole at 20 g less, and is the better choice if a full 370 g feels heavy by the third set. Last season's Extreme Pro 2025 on unidirectional carbon is another route to the same weight.

Who should leave it on the shelf

HEAD labels the One X advanced only, and we agree. A stiff, head-heavy 370 g frame punishes late contact, tires the forearm and gives almost nothing back on a blocked defensive ball. If your smash still lands short more often than it goes over the glass, a lighter carbon diamond from our advanced padel rackets list, or a softer one from diamond padel rackets, will win you more points.

Not for you if

You're an intermediate still building your overhead, you've had elbow or shoulder trouble, or you spend most rallies defending from the back glass. The 350 g Extreme One or a 360 g diamond will suit you better.

Setting it up

Put a strip from the racket protector range on the top of the frame, where a diamond meets the glass, and fit a tacky overgrip from padel grips so 370 g doesn't twist in a sweaty hand. A firm ball such as the Head Pro S+ tube suits a stiff face on cold courts, with more on padel balls. Heavy rackets mean hard pushes off the back foot, so a stable pair from padel shoes matters, and a thermal bag from padel bags keeps the foam out of a hot boot. The full range is on padel rackets, and the guide to choosing a padel racket explains balance and weight.

Head Extreme One X Padel Racket 2025: questions people ask

Is the Head Extreme One X the same as the Extreme Pro?

No. Both weigh 370 g with a 270 mm balance and Power Foam, but the One X has a 12K carbon face and the 2026 Extreme Pro a Hybrid Woven face of carbon and fibreglass, which feels a little softer.

Is the Head Extreme One X too heavy for an intermediate player?

For most, yes. HEAD rates it advanced only. An intermediate attacker is usually better with the 350 g Extreme One or a 360 g diamond such as the Extreme Motion.

Head Extreme One X or Coello Pro: which should I buy?

Both are 370 g Power Foam diamonds. The Coello Pro sits at 272 mm on Carbon Hybrid HS; the One X sits at 270 mm on stiffer 12K carbon. Choose the One X for a firmer face, the Coello Pro for a little more feel.

How do I protect the Extreme One X carbon face?

Tape the top of the frame with a protector strip, keep the racket in a thermal bag away from car heat, and avoid scraping the rough face on the floor to pick up balls.

What is the head size of the Head Extreme One X?

HEAD gives 494 cm², on a racket 45.5 cm long with a 38 mm profile.
