Head Extreme Motion Padel Racket 2026

£179.94

The Head Extreme Motion padel racket is Head's quick, 360 g attacking diamond for strong intermediate and advanced players: unidirectional carbon over Power Foam, a head-heavy balance, and a little more forgiveness than its stiff looks suggest. Head launched the 2026 edition with Paula Josemaría, who called it fast and manoeuvrable.

Its natural rival is in the same catalogue. Head also makes the 360 g Coello Motion, and the honest comparison between the two is most of what this page is for.

What the Head Extreme Motion padel racket is built for

Head's own description is unusually specific. The Extreme Motion is for aggressive players who want real attacking power without the heavier handling of a full power racket, and Head names the shots: viboras, rulos and smashes. It also says the frame blocks well, copes with low balls in defence and lets you play an extra ball from the back while you wait to move in. That is a diamond pitched at people who attack but don't want to be one-dimensional.

The construction backs it up. Unidirectional carbon on the hitting surface, a full carbon frame and Power Foam inside, plus the range-wide Extreme technology that Padel Addict lists for 2026: Auxetic 2.0, Extreme Spin texture and Soft Cap+. Paula Josemaría's line at launch was short. "The new Extreme Motion is everything I need on the court. It's incredibly fast and manoeuvrable."

Head Extreme Motion vs Coello Motion

Same brand, same season, same 360 g, and Padelful gives both 9.6 for control. The differences are in the margins. The Coello Motion scores a little higher for power (8.8 against 8.5) and manoeuvrability (8.7 against 8.4); the Extreme Motion scores higher for sweet spot (8.2 against 8.0) and rebound (8.1 against 7.7).

In plain terms: the Coello is the sharper finisher, and the Extreme is the slightly kinder diamond, with more free pace off the face and a touch more room for error. If you spend a lot of the rally defending before you get to attack, we would lean Extreme. If you are already the one at the net putting balls away, Coello.

How the Extreme Motion plays, by the numbers

Padelful's 2026 scores read 9.6 for control, 8.5 for power, 8.4 for manoeuvrability, 8.2 for sweet spot and 8.1 for rebound, with a medium-hard touch. Its summary is that the racket suits players who already hit their spots and want something quick, firm and attack-minded, and it repeats a fair warning from another reviewer: it still demands technique and is less forgiving than a control racket.

One spec disagreement is worth knowing. Head's sheet lists the face as UD carbon; Padelful files it as carbon and fibreglass. We go with Head's sheet. Head doesn't publish a balance in millimetres for this one either, only 'high'.

The Extreme Motion trades a little of both for a bigger sweet spot. Coello Motion 2025 and 2026 score the same and share a point.

Extreme Team, One, Motion or Pro?

The Extreme family runs from the fibreglass Extreme Team, a diamond with a comfortable feel, through the light 350 g Extreme One on 12K carbon, to the Motion and the Extreme Pro, the 370 g frame Head pitches at expert players. Last season's Extreme Motion 2025 is still listed if you want the previous design.

Be careful with the cheaper Evo Extreme, though. Despite the name it is a fibreglass entry teardrop and plays nothing like this racket. The older Extreme Elite from 2023 is a diamond, but a soft fibreglass one with a smooth face, so expect much less bite.

The Motion is the quick one; the Pro the heavy one.

Is the Extreme Motion too much racket for you?

Head labels it intermediate to advanced, and the intermediate half of that needs reading carefully. It suits the strong intermediate who already volleys cleanly and wants to attack more. It does not suit someone still building the basics, who will find a diamond's smaller sweet spot punishing. The intermediate padel rackets page covers the step before.

Not for you if

You mostly defend from the back, you play once a week, or your forearm complains after a firm racket. A medium-hard carbon diamond with a head-heavy balance loads the arm more than a teardrop. Look at the teardrop padel rackets range, or Head's own Speed Motion, first; if you are a defender who still wants an advanced frame, Head's round Gravity Pro control racket is the other way to go.

Grip, tape, balls and bag for an Extreme Motion

Wrap the handle with a fresh Head Xtreme Soft overgrip (a 30-pack lasts a regular player a long time) and see the padel grips page if you are unsure about thickness. Then protect the frame: a strip of Head Antishock Skin across the top of the head, or any tape from the racket protector range, takes the knocks from the glass.

A tube of Head Pro S+ suits the racket and our padel balls guide explains how long a tube lasts. The Head Pro X Racqpack carries it with shoes and kit; more on the padel bag page. Shoes matter more than people think with a diamond: pushing off for the smash needs grip, so start with the padel shoes range or the Gel-Challenger 15 Padel.

Comparing shapes and faces? The diamond padel rackets page, the advanced padel rackets page and carbon padel rackets all help, and every model we stock is under padel rackets. The guide to choosing a padel racket explains balance and weight from scratch. A power-first Head racket at a similar weight to its bigger sibling is the Graphene 360+ Alpha Power

Head Extreme Motion Padel Racket 2026: questions people ask

Is the Head Extreme Motion the same as the Head Speed Motion?

No. Both are 'Motion' rackets, Head's lighter versions of each line, but the Extreme Motion is a carbon diamond for attacking players and the Speed Motion is a teardrop with a carbon and fibreglass face. Same naming logic, different rackets.

What level is the Head Extreme Motion padel racket for?

Strong intermediate to advanced players, as Head labels it. You should already volley cleanly and want to attack more. Players still learning the basics will find a diamond less forgiving than a teardrop or round racket.

Should I buy the Head Extreme Motion or the Coello Motion?

They are close. Both weigh 360 g and score 9.6 for control on Padelful. The Coello Motion scores higher for power and manoeuvrability; the Extreme Motion for sweet spot and rebound. Lean Extreme if you defend before you attack, Coello if you finish at the net.

How do I protect a Head Extreme Motion?

Tape the top of the head, where diamonds take most glass strikes, keep it in a cover out of hot cars, and brush grit off the textured face after outdoor sessions so the Extreme Spin finish lasts. Change the overgrip as soon as it feels slick.

How heavy is the Head Extreme Motion 2026?

Head lists 360 g with a 10 g tolerance either way, so a racket can weigh between 350 and 370 g. Head gives the balance as 'high' rather than in millimetres.

Does Paula Josemaría play the Head Extreme Motion?

Head launched the 2026 Extreme Motion with her, and Padel Addict's launch coverage quotes her calling it fast and manoeuvrable. As with any pro, check the current season before assuming the racket in her hand is the retail model.
