Head Extreme One Padel Racket 2025

£164.49

The Head Extreme One padel racket is the lightest diamond in Head's Extreme family: 350 g of 12K carbon with a high 272 mm balance, for attacking players who want a quick racket that still hits hard overhead. Its defining detail, by Tennis Warehouse's account, is a single-hole design that makes contact feel more solid.

Light doesn't mean easy, though. With that much of its weight up in the head, it behaves like a smaller, faster attacking diamond rather than a beginner's racket.

Why a 350 g Extreme One is not an easy racket

Weight and balance pull in different directions here. 350 g is light for a carbon diamond; every carbon diamond in Head's current range weighs 360 g or more. But Head puts the balance at 272 mm from the butt, as high as its heaviest attacking frames, so what weight there is sits up in the head. Tennis Warehouse calls that a relatively high balance that rewards stronger technique over time, which is a polite way of saying it won't hide a late swing.

The upside is speed. A light, head-heavy diamond comes through quickly on the smash and still carries weight into the ball, and Tennis Warehouse's testers loved it for overheads and high volleys. The downside is that the 12K face and Power Foam give a firm response, so mishits off the frame are felt.

The single-hole design and the rest of the build

Tennis Warehouse describes the Extreme One's singular racket hole as the feature that makes contact more solid and, it says, improves the racket's durability over its life. Head's own sheet doesn't explain the One name, so treat that as the retailer's reading of the design rather than Head's claim.

The rest is Head's 2025 Extreme toolkit: a 12K carbon hitting surface, Power Foam core and full carbon frame, Auxetic 2.0 in the yoke and grip bar for feel, the rough Extreme Spin finish, Smart Bridge and Tailored Frame construction, an Anti-Shock film on the frame and the Soft Butt Cap + with a swappable wrist cord.

Extreme One or Extreme One X?

Head built the Extreme One X as, in its own words, a heavier version of the Extreme One: 370 g with its balance at 270 mm, on the same 12K carbon, Power Foam and carbon frame, and labelled advanced only. Twenty grams is a big gap on a padel racket. Head's other single-hole racket, the teardrop Speed One, is 5 g lighter again with a lower sweet spot. The One X hits heavier and asks more of your arm; the One is quicker and easier to swing late in a match.

Extreme One 2025 or a 2026 Extreme?

Head renewed the Extreme line for 2026, and the 2026 line has no One model. The closest current racket is the Extreme Motion, 10 g heavier on unidirectional carbon and launched with Paula Josemaría. Above it sits the 370 g Extreme Pro. If you want the lightest Extreme Head makes, this 2025 racket is still it.

Outside the Extreme family, the Coello Motion is the other 360 g Head diamond, and the fibreglass Extreme Team is the softer way into the shape. Our padel racket sale page explains why an outgoing-season Head can still be the right buy.

Who should not buy the Extreme One

Tennis Warehouse's description says the lighter weight makes it accessible for any level, while its spec sheet says intermediate to advanced. We side with the spec sheet. A head-heavy carbon diamond is the wrong first racket however little it weighs. The advanced padel rackets page explains what to look for.

Not for you if

You are in your first season, you mostly defend, or you want light because your arm is sore. Light and head-heavy is not the same as soft; a round or teardrop racket with a soft core is kinder. Start with the teardrop padel rackets or the control padel rackets range.

Setting up an Extreme One

Tape the top of the head with Head Antishock Skin or a guard from the racket protector range; a diamond takes its knocks there. For the handle, a light racket rewards a secure, tacky grip, so fit an overgrip such as the Head Prime Tour Perforated three-pack and see the padel grips page for alternatives.

Pair it with a tube from the padel balls range, carry it in a racket bag from padel bags, and wear a shoe built for lateral pushes, such as ASICS's supportive Gel-Resolution X padel shoe from our padel shoes range.

More diamonds are on the diamond padel rackets page, faces are explained on carbon padel rackets, and the whole range is under padel rackets. For the theory, read how to choose a padel racket.

Head Extreme One Padel Racket 2025: questions people ask

Is the Head Extreme One the same as the Extreme One X?

No. Head calls the One X a heavier version of the Extreme One: 370 g with a 270 mm balance against 350 g and 272 mm, on the same 12K carbon and Power Foam build. The One X is labelled advanced only.

Is the Head Extreme One padel racket good for intermediate players?

For strong intermediates who already attack, yes; Head labels it intermediate to advanced. It is light, but its 272 mm balance is high, so it rewards clean technique. Players still building their game will be better off with a teardrop.

Head Extreme One or Extreme Motion?

The Extreme One is 10 g lighter on 12K carbon with a published 272 mm balance; the 2026 Extreme Motion is 360 g on unidirectional carbon. Choose the One for the lightest Extreme Head makes, the Motion for the current-season design.

How do I look after a Head Extreme One?

Keep the Anti-Shock film on and tape the top of the head, store it in a cover away from heat, and brush grit off the rough Extreme Spin face after outdoor sessions. Change the overgrip as soon as it stops feeling tacky.

How heavy is the Head Extreme One 2025?

Head lists 350 g with a 10 g tolerance, so 340 to 360 g in practice, with the balance at 272 mm and a 38 mm profile. Every other carbon diamond in Head's current range weighs at least 360 g.

Is there a 2026 Head Extreme One?

Not that Head has released. The Extreme line was renewed for 2026 with the Extreme Motion and Extreme Pro, so the 2025 Extreme One remains the lightest Extreme.
