Head Extreme Team Padel Racket 2025

£116.49

The Head Extreme Team padel racket is the most forgiving diamond in HEAD's 2025 Extreme range: 360 g, a fibreglass face over Power Foam, and a 265 mm balance that keeps it quicker in the hand than most diamonds. It's for intermediate players who want to start attacking without carrying a top-heavy frame.

Look at the balance before anything else. It is the lowest of any HEAD diamond near this weight with a published figure, and that one number explains most of how the racket feels.

Why 265 mm matters more than the name

Diamonds usually carry their weight high. HEAD's other diamonds at 350 to 370 g that publish a figure sit between 268 and 272 mm from the butt, which puts mass behind the smash and makes the head feel heavy at the net. The Extreme Team pulls that back to 265 mm, and HEAD's sheet calls it mid balance. Three or four millimetres sounds trivial. On the end of a 360 g racket it's the difference between a volley you get to and one that's a fraction late.

You give a little back overhead. There is less weight behind the ball on a flat smash than on the Extreme Pro, so the power has to come from the face and the foam. That is where the fibreglass helps: it flexes on contact and returns pace without a big swing, which is the trade most club attackers want.

Ruler chart of balance points in millimetres: Head Extreme Team 2025 at 265 mm, Coello Motion 2026 at 268, Coello Team 2026 and Extreme Pro 2026 at 270, Extreme One 2025 at 272

How it plays at the net and from the back

Most of its good work is done forward of the service line. The lower balance makes it quick to bring up for a block, and the diamond's high sweet spot is in the right place for bandejas and viboras hit from above the head. HEAD describes it as the most forgiving model in the Extreme range, and the fibreglass face backs that up: off-centre volleys feel muted rather than jarring.

From the back of the court it's less natural. A diamond's sweet spot sits higher on the face than a round racket's, so a low ball dug out of the corner needs cleaner contact. If you spend most rallies defending, a teardrop will serve you better until you're comfortable moving forward.

2025 frame or the 2026 update?

HEAD updated the Extreme Team for 2026, and the changes run in one direction. The face and core stay the same, but the new frame is listed at 365 g with a medium-high balance, so it tips further towards power. Padelful's 2026 review likes the lively ball exit and stable overheads but warns that it needs technique to get the power out and forgives less on late balls. We stock the 2025 model, which is the lighter, more manoeuvrable of the two.

One detail to check on the box: listings disagree about the 2025 surface. HEAD's page and one European shop describe it as flat, while Tennis Warehouse Europe lists HEAD's rough Extreme Spin finish. We've put both in the spec table.

Extreme Team, Coello Team or Cyber?

HEAD sells three fibreglass diamonds for club players, and they're closer than the names suggest. The Coello Team 2026 is the same weight with the same face and foam, but sits 5 mm further up the frame at 270 mm, so it smashes a bit harder and handles a bit slower. The budget Head Cyber uses a softer foam and costs less. And the Extreme Elite from 2023 is the older, smooth-faced version of the same idea.

Within the Extreme family, the next step is carbon: the Extreme Motion 2026 is 360 g of UD carbon with a firmer, crisper strike, and the Extreme Motion 2025 is the same spec from a season earlier. Watch out for the Evo Extreme, which shares the name but is a fibreglass teardrop for beginners.

When to choose something else

If you're still learning to play off the walls, start with a teardrop from the best padel racket for beginners list. If you already hit hard and want the racket to add more, the extra weight up top on a carbon diamond from diamond padel rackets will suit you better than a mid-balanced fibreglass frame.

Not for you if

You defend from the back for most of the rally, you want maximum power from a heavy head, or you specifically want the newest season. The 2026 Extreme Team or a carbon diamond will fit better.

What to add before you play

Wrap an overgrip first; the Head Prime Tour perforated three-pack breathes well if your hands sweat, and padel grips has thicker options. A strip from the racket protector range along the top of the head protects the frame against the glass and floor.

The Head Pro+ tube is HEAD's tournament ball and a good match for an attacking racket; padel balls compares the rest. Carry it in a Head Tour S bag or something from padel bags, and pick court shoes from padel shoes. The best padel racket for intermediate page and the full padel rackets range give you other options, and the guide to choosing a padel racket explains balance in more detail.

Head Extreme Team Padel Racket 2025: questions people ask

Is the Head Extreme Team the same racket as the Evo Extreme?

No. The Extreme Team is a 360 g fibreglass diamond for intermediate players. The Evo Extreme is a cheaper 350 g teardrop with a softer foam, aimed at beginners, and only shares the Extreme name.

Is the Head Extreme Team 2025 suitable for an intermediate player?

Yes, intermediate is the level HEAD gives it. The 265 mm balance makes it easier to handle than most diamonds, and the fibreglass face is forgiving. Newer players who still defend most of the time are better off with a teardrop.

Head Extreme Team or Coello Team: what is the difference?

They share the 360 g weight, fibreglass face and Power Foam core. The Extreme Team 2025 has a lower 265 mm balance and handles faster; the Coello Team 2026 sits at 270 mm, with a little more weight behind the smash.

What changed on the Head Extreme Team for 2026?

The 2026 version is listed at 365 g with a medium-high balance, so it is heavier and more head-heavy. The fibreglass face and Power Foam core carry over.

What balance is the Head Extreme Team 2025?

HEAD's sheet gives 265 mm from the butt, which HEAD calls mid balance. That's the lowest published figure of any HEAD diamond we list between 350 and 370 g.

How long will a Head Extreme Team last?

That depends far more on how often and how hard you play than on the model. Keep it out of hot cars, use a cover and tape the frame, and replace it when the ball starts to feel dead off the face.
