HEAD Tour Backpack 25L

£47.99

The HEAD Tour Backpack 25L is a compact padel backpack for players who carry one or two rackets and not much else: 25 litres, roughly 33.5 × 51 × 25 cm, with a padded racket compartment, a main compartment, an integrated shoe space and a few outside pockets.

It's the small end of HEAD's bag range. If you turn up to a casual evening game with a racket, a tube of balls and a change of shoes, it's about the right size. If you carry three rackets, it isn't.

What 25 litres holds

Tennis Nuts lists two main compartments on this bag. One is the padded racket compartment, sized for one or two rackets. The other is the main space for a towel, a top, water and whatever else the evening needs. On the outside there's a zip pocket, two mesh side pockets for a bottle or a tube of balls, and a small phone pocket.

The outer fabric is 75% polyester, 15% nylon and 10% PU according to the same listing. HEAD adds new padding to the straps and back panel, which is the part you notice after a walk from the car park to the court.

The shoe space, and the shop that says no

Shops disagree on the shoe compartment. Tennis Nuts calls it an integrated shoe department. Padel Nuestro's text says "integrated shoe space", while its own spec table says no shoe compartment. Read together, the likeliest answer is a space for shoes rather than a separate vented pocket like the ones on HEAD's bigger bags.

Pack court shoes in a bag liner or a carrier bag, soles inward, so sand-filled turf doesn't end up on the towel. If you play most nights and the shoes live in the bag, a bag with a proper vented end is a better home for them. Our padel shoes range has options for both men and women.

Tour Backpack or a bigger HEAD bag?

Twenty-five litres is the smallest of HEAD's padel bags in our range. The choice is mostly about how many rackets you carry, and whether you want to carry them on your back.

Not for you if

You carry three or more rackets, want a thermal lining to protect them from heat or cold, or keep wet shoes in the bag every day. This is a light-load backpack, and a bigger bag will be less cramped.

Who it suits

Beginners picking up their first racket and not yet owning a spare, commuters who cycle or take the train to the court, and anyone who plays one evening a week. Pair it with a beginner racket such as the Head Speed Team or the Head Gravity Team and you've got a sensible starter kit.

It's also a good second bag. Plenty of regulars keep a big tour bag for match days and use a small backpack for training.

Packing it

Racket in a cover from our padel racket covers in the padded compartment, a tube from padel balls in a side pocket, a spare overgrip such as the Head Pro overgrip pack in the zip pocket, and shoes in the shoe space. If you carry more than two rackets, see all our padel bags, or browse the full padel racket range first. For travel weekends, HEAD's folding Tour Court Bag 40L takes the overflow, and the 40 litre Tour Large padel bag is the racket bag to move up to. If you want a backpack with more room, HEAD's 40 litre rolltop Tour Racqpack holds up to three rackets.

HEAD Tour Backpack 25L: questions people ask

How many rackets does the HEAD Tour Backpack 25L hold?

One or two, in a padded compartment of their own. Padel Nuestro rates it as a medium bag for two to three rackets, but two is the comfortable number.

Does the HEAD Tour Backpack 25L have a shoe compartment?

It has an integrated shoe space, according to Tennis Nuts and Padel Nuestro. One spec table says no compartment, so expect a space inside the bag rather than a separate vented pocket.

Is the HEAD Tour Backpack 25L a padel bag or a tennis bag?

Shops sell it as both. A padel racket is shorter than a tennis racquet, so it sits well in the racket compartment.

Is the HEAD Tour Backpack 25L big enough for a day on court?

For a racket or two, shoes, a towel, a top and a bottle, yes. For a tournament weekend with spares, go for a larger bag.

What is the difference between the HEAD Tour Backpack 25L and the Coello Tour backpack?

They share the 25 litre size. The Coello edition is a separate listing in Arturo Coello colours, so check the product name before you order.
