Wilson Premier Padel Balls (Dozen)

£18.50

Wilson Premier Padel balls are the standard version of the ball used on the Premier Padel tour: pressurised, wrapped in Dura-Weave felt and built by Wilson for faster conditions, meaning higher altitude, heat and quick courts. They suit players who want the tour ball and play somewhere warm, fast or indoors.

Wilson also makes the Premier Padel Speed, built for slower, colder, low-altitude conditions, and that is the one most British sea-level clubs will end up wanting. Both come in cans of three. Our listing says dozen but does not state the ball count, so check the pack before you order.

What the Wilson Premier Padel ball is

On 24 January 2024 Premier Padel named Wilson its ball supplier for the coming seasons. The tour uses two balls, and FIP, Premier Padel and Wilson decide together which one each tournament gets. The standard Premier Padel ball is the one for venues with faster play, with a core Wilson describes as optimised for faster conditions.

The felt is Dura-Weave, Wilson's tightly woven cover, in HiVis yellow. Wilson says the core brings enhanced durability and consistency, but publishes no pressure figure and no lifespan, so we do not give one either.

Wilson makes two tour balls and they are not the same.

Premier Padel or Premier Padel Speed for UK courts?

Wilson positions them by conditions. The standard ball is for faster courts, higher altitude and hot, humid air, where a livelier ball would sail. The Speed is for slower surfaces, low altitude and cold weather, where the ball needs help to travel. Britain sits near sea level and spends much of the year cool, so the brand guidance points at the Premier Padel Speed dozen for most club sessions.

None of this comes from a measured test. It is Wilson's own positioning, repeated by retailers, and we found no independent comparison of bounce or speed. Take it as a sensible starting point, then trust your own ear: a ball that dies off the glass is the wrong ball for the day.

What is in the dozen

Wilson sells these balls in cans of three. Our listing is titled with both a three-ball can and the word dozen, and it does not say how many balls or cans arrive. Rather than guess, we suggest you check the pack contents shown at checkout. For the slower Speed ball in a larger pack, see the Premier Speed box. If you only want a can to try, the Premier canister or the single Premier Padel tube is the lower-commitment option, and the 24-tube box suits clubs.

Padel balls go flat whether or not you play, once opened. Keep spare cans sealed, store them out of a hot boot and read our pressuriser page if you want to stretch an open can.

Where it sits in Wilson's ball range

Wilson UK lists three padel balls. The two Premier balls are the tour pair, and the X3 dozen is the everyday club ball with the same Dura-Weave felt. If you play three times a week at a club, the X3 may be all you need, and Dunlop's Pro Padel is another premium club ball. If you want the ball the pros use, buy one of the Premier balls and pick by conditions.

Who should skip the standard Premier ball

If you play outdoors on a cold evening, the standard ball is the one Wilson built for the opposite conditions. If you only hit for fun, the cheaper X3 does the job, and if you are choosing a racket first, our padel ball hub shows the rest of the range.

Not for you if

You play in the cold at sea level, you need a confirmed ball count in the pack or you want published pressure and lifespan figures. Wilson publishes none and our listing does not state the count.

What to play them with

A tour ball suits a racket that rewards clean contact, like the firm Belasteguín-line Bela V3, or a softer all-rounder such as the Wilson Carbon Force. Our padel racket range covers the rest, and fresh padel grips and good padel shoes matter more than the ball. Not sure where to start? Our guide to choosing a padel racket explains the basics.

Wilson Premier Padel Balls (Dozen): questions people ask

Are Wilson Premier Padel balls the same as Premier Padel Speed?

No. Wilson makes both for the Premier Padel tour. The standard ball is built for faster conditions and the Speed for slower, colder, low-altitude conditions.

Which Wilson Premier ball suits UK courts?

Wilson positions the Speed for low altitude, cold and slower courts, which matches most UK sea-level play. The standard ball suits fast, hot courts. This is brand guidance, not a test.

Are Wilson Premier Padel balls better than the X3?

They are the tour ball, while the X3 is an everyday club ball with the same Dura-Weave felt. Neither has published pressure or bounce data, so pick on conditions and budget.

How many balls are in a dozen?

Wilson sells these in cans of three, and our listing does not state the count for the dozen. Check the pack contents at checkout before you order.

How long do Wilson Premier Padel balls last?

Wilson publishes no lifespan. Any padel ball goes flat once opened, so keep spare cans sealed and out of heat.

Are Wilson Premier Padel balls used in professional matches?

Yes. Wilson became the ball supplier of Premier Padel from 2024, and FIP, Premier Padel and Wilson decide which ball each tournament uses.
