Wilson Bela V3 Padel Racket (2025)

£160.80

The Wilson Bela V3 is the middle racket in Fernando Belasteguín's signature line: a firm 3K carbon frame at about 365 g, built for intermediate and advanced players who win points with placement and a steady overhead. V3 is Wilson's generation number, which here means the 2025 racket.

Padelful scores it 8.6 overall, with control 8.9 and the biggest sweet spot of the three Bela V3 rackets at 9.0. It plays dry and direct, and it is not forgiving of a mistimed smash. The shape depends on who you ask, which we sort out below.

What the Bela V3 is, and why the name has a V in it

Wilson does not name rackets by year, it numbers them. The Bela V1 arrived in 2021, the V2 in 2023 and the V3 is the 2025 generation. It was co-designed with Belasteguín, and Tennis Warehouse lists the technology: a V-Bridge frame to cut twisting, a denser Spin2 texture at the top of the face, a Duo Grid hole pattern with bigger holes up top for power and smaller ones lower for control, and a stability channel.

There are three Bela V3 rackets. This is the standard one. The Bela Pro V3 is the heavier, higher-carbon version, and the Bela LS V3 is the light one. Ignore any Bela V2 pages that turn up when you search, except the Bela Junior V2, which is a kids racket.

How it plays: dry, direct and fussy about timing

Hit a clean ball and you get a crisp answer. Padelful likes the precise, direct response and says the bandeja and víbora come out clean, with useful smash power from a head with a bit of presence. Early preparation is rewarded. Late preparation is not.

Lean on the feel and the picture is firm and a touch muted. Its list of cons is short but honest: defensive blocks need help, the touch is dry, and mistimed smashes feel harsh in the arm. A Reddit thread summarised on Padelful calls the standard V3 harder and more muted than the V2.5 Elite. Players who get on with it tend to be the ones who run the net and dictate the rally, not the ones scraping balls off the back glass.

Teardrop, diamond or hybrid? The listings disagree

Tennis Warehouse calls it a teardrop at 365 g (give or take 10 g) with a 265 mm balance and a Power Foam core. Padelful calls it a diamond, gives 365 and 375 g and describes a firm EVA core. One European stockist lists it as a hybrid at 363 g and 260 mm. All of them agree on the 3K carbon face and the 38 mm profile.

So what do you buy? A firm, mid-weight racket with a balance that sits just above the middle and a sweet spot that Padelful rates at 9.0. Whether Wilson, a reviewer or a retailer files the head under teardrop, diamond or hybrid changes the label, not the way it hits.

Bela V3, Bela Pro V3 or Bela LS V3

Padelful has all three within a tenth or two of each other on control, so the choice is weight and bite. The Pro is the powerful one: 360 to 375 g with a 24K carbon face and a high balance, for advanced attackers. The LS drops to 355 g with a medium balance and a carbon and glass face, for lighter players and quick hands. The standard racket sits in the middle and has the biggest sweet spot.

If you want the same brand in a more precise teardrop, the Wilson Blade V4 is the nearest; for a softer touch, the Wilson Carbon Force is the forgiving alternative. If you like the idea but fancy another brand, the Nox AT10 Pro Cup Soft is a more forgiving teardrop. Who should skip the Bela V3

Beginners, for a start. A firm racket with a dry feel gives you very little help while you learn, and our beginner padel rackets page lists friendlier frames. Defensive players who spend the match behind the baseline will want something softer, and anyone with a sore elbow should be wary of the way it reacts to a late smash. If you are on the way up from the basics, compare it with our intermediate padel rackets.

Not for you if

You are new to padel, you defend more than you attack or you need a forgiving racket on mistimed smashes. Padelful's own cons are weak blocks, a dry touch and harsh feedback when you are late.

Setting up a Bela V3

A textured face wears quickest at the frame edge, so fit a racket protector before the first session and keep a spare overgrip from our padel grips range in the bag. Fresh padel balls, such as Wilson's Premier tour ball, matter on a firm racket because a dead ball makes it feel harsher. Add the right padel shoes, and the matching Bela V3 racket bag if you want the set (the Bela Super Tour bag is the other name it turns up under).

Is the Wilson Bela V3 good for intermediate players?

Yes, if you are comfortable with a firm racket. Tennis Warehouse rates it intermediate to advanced, and Padelful scores control at 8.9. It is less friendly to late contact.

Is the Wilson Bela V3 better than the Bela LS V3?

It is heavier at about 365 g against 355 g and has the bigger sweet spot, 9.0 against 8.8 on Padelful. The LS is easier to swing quickly.

How heavy is the Wilson Bela V3?

Tennis Warehouse lists 365 g with a 10 g tolerance. Padelful lists 365 and 375 g, and one stockist lists 363 g.
