Wilson Blade Padel Racket: Blade V4 (2026)

£149.70

The Wilson Blade padel racket for 2026 is the Blade V4: a firm 365 g teardrop with a carbon tubular frame, a carbon and fibreglass face and a firm EVA core, built for intermediate and advanced players who place the ball rather than blast it. Wilson numbers its generations, so V4 is this season's racket and V3 is last season's.

Padelful rates control at 8.8, power at 8.3 and manoeuvrability at 8.4, with a smaller sweet spot at 7.6 and rebound at 7.2. That is a direct, honest racket: it rewards clean contact and gives little back when you are late. Sources agree on almost everything except the balance figure.

What the Blade V4 is, and what changed from V3

The V4 is a redesign built around C2 Tubular Construction, a carbon tubular frame with uniform thickness. Tennis Warehouse lists the supporting kit: a Spin Effect texture for grip, Sharp Hole Technology for bite, a Duo Grid pattern with bigger holes at the top and smaller ones below, and an Anti-Fragile Edge to protect the head.

Last season's Blade V3 is still on sale and Wilson's lighter Blade LS V4 sits alongside it. Hunting through older listings, you will also meet the Blade Pro V3 from 2024, which Padelful rated higher for sweet spot. Check the V number before you buy. For a child, the 300 g Blade Junior V4 is the one to look at.

How it plays: direct, quick and fussy

Padelful's list of pros reads like a net player's wish list: precise directional control on volleys, quick handling in exchanges and a controlled bandeja and víbora. If you like to take the ball early and aim it, this does what you ask.

The cons are as plain. It gives limited free depth from defence, the sweet spot is modest away from the centre and smashes need full acceleration. Rebound at 7.2 is the lowest number in the set, and you will feel it when the ball is slow. Think of a precision tool, not a safety net.

What the sources agree on, and where they split

Padelful and Tennis Warehouse both say teardrop, 365 g, a carbon and fibreglass face, a firm EVA core, a C2 tubular carbon frame and an intermediate to advanced level. Tennis Warehouse adds a tolerance of 10 g and a 267 mm balance, which it calls slightly lower than usual. Padelful gives no figure and says controlled rather than head-heavy, and our own catalogue notes call the balance high, so treat the balance as undecided and try one if it matters to you.

Blade V4 against the old Blade and the lighter one

The older Blade Pro V3 from 2024 scored control 9.0, power 8.6 and sweet spot 9.1 on Padelful. The V4 matches it on control and gets close on power, but its sweet spot is 1.5 points smaller. If forgiveness matters, the V3, the older fibreglass Blade LS V3 or the soft Blade LS V4 is the kinder choice, and the budget Wilson Blade Power is a plain entry teardrop. For younger players, there is the Blade V4 Junior.
