The Head SofTac Traction replacement grip is a thick, ridged base grip for players who want a firmer, more secure hold on the handle, listed at 1.8 mm and 18 g.
Retailers give style 285029-BK in black and describe a soft elastomer surface with raised ridges for traction. It isn't the same as Head's Dual Absorbing, which is 1.75 mm and 17 g.

What the ridges do
HEAD describes a textured surface with raised patterns for better traction, for players who prefer a firmer, more secure hold. Retailers add a soft elastomer compound and a highly cushioned feel.
At 1.8 mm it's a thick grip, so on a padel handle it makes the racket feel bigger in the hand. That's good if your hands are large, and not if the handle already feels full.

Not for you if
You have small hands or a thin padel handle. At 1.8 mm this is chunky.
Fitting it
Strip the old grip, wind this on from the butt cap with a slight overlap and finish with the tape. If you want extra tack, put a thin wrap from padel grips over the top. More small kit is under padel accessories, and the padel racket page lists the frames.
Looking after it
A base grip lasts months. Replace it when the ridges flatten or the surface hardens, and let an overgrip take the daily wear.
