Joma Valkiria Flex 2.0 Padel Racket

£79.99

The Joma Valkiria Flex 2.0 padel racket is the easy Valkiria: a round, low-balance racket for players starting out or improving, at 350 to 360 g, with a soft Flexo Black EVA core, a 100% carbon EXO Counter frame and a Joma cover thrown in. Joma's own page says it is ideal for people starting the sport.

The 2.0 is a retailer's name. Joma's page calls it simply the Valkiria Flex, with the code 401583.120, and the 2026 Valkiria Flex we also sell is a different racket with a higher balance. Check the code before you order.

Which Valkiria Flex is this?

Tennis Nuts lists code 401583-120 as the Valkiria Flex 2.0, in black and fluor orange. Joma's own page for 401583.120 calls the same racket the Valkiria Flex, in black and fluorescent orange, with no 2.0 in its name and no season stated. The 2026 Valkiria Flex in black and pink is 401906.105, a different build.

If you're searching for one, use the code. The page names, the colours and the years all overlap, and it's the code that tells you which racket you're getting.

Three Valkiria Flex listings compared by code: Joma's page for 401583.120, Tennis Nuts' Valkiria Flex 2.0 for 401583-120 which is the same racket, and the 2026 Valkiria Flex 401906.105 which is a different racket

What it is, and where the sources disagree

Joma lists a rounded shape (its own description once says diamond, which we take as a slip), 350 to 360 g, a low balance, a 38 mm profile and a Flexo Black EVA core with a medium-hard feel, within a 100% carbon EXO Counter frame. The side is 1k carbon, and the flat section is 75% fibreglass and 25% carbon, filled with 100% EVA. Flexshield, a graphite compound, adds flexibility.

Tennis Nuts agrees on the round shape, the 38 mm profile and a weight of 350 g with a 10 g tolerance, though its page says low balance in the table and high in the description. It lists the level as intermediate, then as improving to advanced, where Joma says starting out. We'd read it as a forgiving racket for beginners and improvers.

Not for you if

You want pace on the smash or a racket to grow into for years. A low-balance round racket gives you comfort and control, and not much help finishing points, so a stronger player will find it limiting.

Comparison of the Joma Valkiria Flex 401583 (2.0) and the 2026 Valkiria Flex 401906: low balance against high, 1k carbon sides against EXO Counter carbon, and a starting-out brief against mid to high, with the same weight, shape and face

Who it suits

Beginners who want a carbon-framed racket that won't hurt their arm, improvers who play defensively, and anyone with a sore elbow who needs a soft core. It belongs among our best padel rackets for beginners and the wider control padel racket group. The full padel racket range is the place to compare brands.

Looking after it

It comes with a Joma cover, which is a good start. Add a racket protector to the frame, a spare overgrip from padel grips, and a tube of padel balls to learn on. Choose court shoes from padel shoes and a padel bag when you are ready to carry more than one racket.
