Joma Game Junior Padel Racket

£69.99

The Joma Game Junior padel racket is a round, low-balance junior racket for a child starting out: a soft EVA core, a fibreglass face on a carbon-fibre-reinforced frame, and a weight of about 330 to 340 g. It's Joma's initiation-level junior, a gentle, forgiving racket with a big, easy sweet spot.

One thing to know first. At 330 to 340 g it's heavier than most junior rackets we list, and Joma doesn't publish an age range or a length. That makes the choice a matter of the child's size and strength rather than a number on the box.

The weight is the thing to check

Tradeinn lists 330 to 340 g in its spec list and 300 to 330 g in the description, and Joma's own page, as quoted in search results, gives 330 to 340 g. The HEAD junior rackets on our site sit at 300 to 320 g, so this is the heavy end.

For a small child that matters more than the colour. A heavier racket with a low balance still swings easily, because the weight sits towards the handle, but a child who can't swing it comfortably will drop their wrist and pick up bad habits. If they're small or very young, look at the lighter options on our kids padel racket page.

What the listings say, and where they argue

All sources agree on the shape and the feel: round, low balance, soft EVA core, and a carbon-fibre-reinforced frame. The Tradeinn listing gives the face as fibreglass and the level as junior beginner. Where they disagree is on thickness (33 mm in the spec list, a 38 mm profile in the description) and on weight. Length isn't listed anywhere we looked; the size option says only 'Long'.

We've given the ranges rather than choosing one. If a number matters, for example if you're matching racket thickness to a small hand, measure the racket when it arrives.

Not for you if

Your child is young or small and you want the lightest racket on the market. The weight is at the heavy end for juniors, and Joma gives no age guidance, so check against the child before you buy.

Who it suits

A junior who's just started and needs a racket that forgives mis-hits: the round shape keeps the sweet spot near the middle, and the soft core stops the ball flying off the face. It's an initiation racket rather than a development one, so a keen child will outgrow it, and the step up is a lighter-feeling teardrop. See our full padel racket range when that day comes.

Kids grow quickly and so does their footwear: junior court shoes from padel shoes matter as much as the racket for avoiding slips on sand-filled turf.

What to get with it

A pack of padel balls to learn on, a fresh overgrip from padel grips so the handle suits small hands, and a padel bag or racket cover that the child can carry themselves. A racket protector is cheap insurance for a frame that will hit the glass more often than it should.

Joma Game Junior Padel Racket: questions people ask

What age is the Joma Game Junior for?

Joma gives no age range for it. It is an initiation-level junior racket, so choose by the child's size and strength. At 330 to 340 g it is heavier than most junior rackets, so younger children may prefer a lighter one.

Is the Joma Game Junior the same as the Game JR II?

No. The Game JR II is the newer version, though Joma quotes the same 330 to 340 g for both. Check the product name and the code before you order.

How heavy is the Joma Game Junior?

Joma and most shops say 330 to 340 g. One listing also says 300 to 330 g in its description, so expect it to be close to 330 g.

Is the Joma Game Junior round or teardrop?

Round, with a low balance. That keeps the sweet spot large and central, which suits a beginner.

How long is the Joma Game Junior?

The length is not published. Joma says only that it is smaller than an adult racket, so we do not give a figure.
