LOK BE Hype Gen 2 Padel Racket 2026

£61.80

The LOK BE Hype Gen 2 padel racket is the friendliest diamond in LOK's 2026 line: a head-heavy fibreglass racket of 360 to 375 g with a medium-soft EVA core, for players who want some attacking pace without a hard, unforgiving frame. It's the diamond for someone who has outgrown a first racket and wants to learn to finish points.

Both sites we checked agree it's a diamond with a head-heavy balance, fibreglass in the frame and face, and an EVA core. Where they split is the level, with one calling it a beginner racket and the other pitching it higher.

What the sources agree on

Padelful and Padel Reference both list a diamond shape, a head-heavy balance, fibreglass in the frame and face, and a Custom EVA core. Padelful calls the feel medium-soft, and Padel Reference calls the core medium-density, with an Asymmetric Heart structure. Weight is 360 to 375 g on Padelful and 365 g on Padel Reference.

The level is where they differ. Padelful's sources call it amateur and intermediate, and one retailer pitches it at beginners. Padel Reference's table says beginner and its technical specs say intermediate to advanced. Our reading: it's a racket for improving players, not first-timers.

Comparison of Padelful and Padel Reference for the LOK BE Hype Gen 2 2026: both say diamond, head-heavy balance, fibreglass frame and face and EVA core, with weight 360 to 375 grams against 365 grams and differing level

How it plays

Padelful scores it at 8.8 for rebound, 7.1 for manoeuvrability, 6.6 for power, 6.4 for sweet spot and 6.2 for control, 7 overall. It praises easy ball output and a comfortable feel, and says the bandeja and the vibora come out cleanly. Its complaints are a less generous sweet spot, lost precision off-centre and too little firmness for a heavy hitter.

That's a coherent picture: a diamond whose soft core does some of the work. The head-heavy balance still wants a proper swing, and a diamond's small sweet spot means a mis-hit is punished more than on a round racket.

Not for you if

You're a first-timer who finds the middle of a racket only half the time, or a heavy hitter who wants a firm, punchy response. A diamond this soft sits in between, and each group would be better with a round racket or a harder one.

Where the BE Hype Gen 2 starts. The BE Hype is the gentlest diamond of the four. Power and control both climb with each step. Padelful scores out of 100 from its LOK brand page (MAXX Hype: Yanguas World edition). One site's ratings, not lab tests.

Gen 2 or the 2024 BE Hype?

On Padelful's scores the two years are within three points on every measure, so you're choosing a finish and a price, not a different racket. If the 2024 BE Hype is cheaper and in stock, it's a sensible buy; if you want the current model, this is it.

Who it suits

Improving players who have started to smash and want a racket that helps, club players who'll replace it in a season or two, and anyone who wants the diamond shape on a modest budget. It sits on our diamond padel racket page and among the options on cheap padel racket. The wider padel racket range is the place to compare other brands.

Starting kit

A racket protector protects a fibreglass frame from wall scrapes, and a fresh overgrip from padel grips keeps the handle tacky. Take a tube of padel balls and wear sensible padel shoes, and carry the lot in a padel bag once you have more than one racket.

What is the difference between the LOK BE Hype and the EASY Hype?
