Nox AT10 Genius Ultralight Padel Racket for Growing Juniors

£56.95

The Nox AT10 Genius Ultralight padel racket is the step up for juniors who have outgrown a children's racket but aren't ready for full adult weight: a full-size Agustín Tapia teardrop at 310 to 325 g, with a soft HR2 EVA core and a 3K fibreglass face. It suits teenagers over about 155 cm who've been playing on something like the Genius Junior.

The clever part is that the weight hardly changes. What changes is the length and the shape, which is exactly what a growing player needs.

When to move a child up

Height is a better guide than age. Our fitting guide puts children under about 150 cm on a junior racket like the AT10 Genius Junior, and moves them up once they pass about 155 cm. The other sign is the swing: when a junior is hitting through the ball with a steady wrist and says the racket feels short or slow, it's time.

Our kids padel racket guide sets out the full ladder, from five-year-olds to teenagers, with the rackets at each step.

Step-up path through Nox rackets by height: AT10 Genius Junior, then the AT10 Genius Ultralight, then the full-weight Nox X-Hero

What changes from a junior racket

Three things. The racket grows to full adult length, so a teenager gets the reach they'll use for the rest of their padel life. The head becomes a teardrop, with the sweet spot a little higher than on a round junior frame. And the core gets softer, HR2 rather than the Genius Junior's HR3, so the ball still comes off easily with a shorter swing.

The weight stays almost the same, 310 to 325 g against 300 to 325 g. That's why the jump is easy: nothing feels heavier, it just reaches further.

Comparison card of the Nox AT10 Genius Junior and the AT10 Genius Ultralight: size, head shape, weight, core, face and balance

How it plays for a young player

Padelful scores the 2026 Ultralight 9.5 for handling and 9.5 for rebound, with a 9.0 sweet spot and 8.2 for control. Power is 5.5. For a teenager that's a good set of numbers: quick at the net, easy depth from the back, forgiving when they miss the middle. The power comes later, with technique and a heavier racket.

When to wait, and when to skip it

If your child is under about 150 cm, wait; a full-length racket will feel long and clumsy. If they're already strong and nearly adult height, skip it and go straight to a full-weight racket from our beginner padel racket list, because they'll outgrow 320 g within a season. Adults who want this racket for themselves have their own page for it.

Kit for a growing player

Add an overgrip from our padel grips range, which builds up the handle a little for growing hands, and a Nox protector for the inevitable scrapes along the glass. Fresh balls from our padel balls page make defence easier, and junior feet need proper padel shoes with a herringbone sole for sand-filled turf. A padel bag keeps it all together; the full range of padel rackets and our guide on how to choose a padel racket cover the rest.

Nox AT10 Genius Ultralight Padel Racket for Growing Juniors: questions people ask

Is the Nox AT10 Genius Ultralight a junior racket?

It is a full-size adult racket built at junior weight, 310 to 325 g. That makes it the natural next racket for a junior who has outgrown the Genius Junior.

What height should a child be for the Nox AT10 Genius Ultralight?

Our fitting guide suggests over about 155 cm. Below about 150 cm, a junior racket such as the AT10 Genius Junior is the better fit.

Nox AT10 Genius Junior or Genius Ultralight: which should my child have?

Go by height. Under about 150 cm, the Genius Junior; over about 155 cm, the Ultralight. In between, let them try both if you can.

How long will a teenager use the Nox AT10 Genius Ultralight?

Until they are strong enough to want more weight. A teenager who is still growing and plays weekly may move to a 350 g adult racket within a season or two.

Is the junior Ultralight the same racket as the adult Ultralight?

Yes. It is the same 2026 Nox AT10 Genius Ultralight; we list it in both our junior and adult ranges because it suits both.
