Babolat Air Veron 2.6 Padel Racket

£167.99

The Babolat Air Veron is the quick, medium-feel teardrop in Babolat's mid-range, aimed at intermediate and improving players who play an all-court game and want fast hands at the net without paying for a Viper. The 2.6 is the 2026 edition: 355 g (give or take 10), an even balance, a Black EVA core and a Carbon Flex face, a weave of carbon and fibreglass.

Padelful scores its manoeuvrability 9.1, its rebound 8.4 and its power 8.1, with a sweet spot of 7.4. In other words, it is easy to swing and not especially easy to hit the middle of.

Babolat names rackets by version, so the Air Veron 2.6 is what shops also list as the Air Veron 2026. The 2.5 was the 2025 edition.

Babolat Air Veron or Air Viper?

Both are teardrops that weigh 355 g with an even balance, and Padelful gives both the same sweet spot of 7.4. What separates them is power and the feel of the face. The Air Viper 2.6 uses a 16K carbon face over X-EVA and scores 9.1 for power against the Veron's 8.1; it also feels firmer. The Veron's Carbon Flex face and Black EVA give a medium feel that is easier on the arm.

So the question is not which racket is better but whether you want that extra point of power and the stiffer feel. If your smash is still a work in progress, the Veron is the calmer ride. If you can already finish points, the Viper pays you back for the firmer face.

Same sweet spot, same hands: the Viper adds a full point of power. Padelful scores out of 10 (axis starts at 7).

How the Air Veron plays

Hands first. Padelful's tester praised how quickly it reacts at the net, easy chiquita reactions and a clean ball exit. An even balance means the head does not lag behind the handle when you flick a volley, and the medium feel keeps contact quiet.

Then the limits. Overhead power is modest and the sweet spot is compact, so a smash hit off the middle of the frame goes nowhere in particular. The same review is blunt that you need to supply the aggression. That is not a flaw so much as a job description: this is a racket for people who win points with placement and movement.

On shape, Babolat's page calls the Air Veron a teardrop (and uses the word hybrid in its description), Padelful calls it a diamond, and the balance varies from retailer to retailer. We use Babolat's sheet. If you want a plain-language summary: round enough to be forgiving in the swing, high enough in the head to hurt you on a mishit.

Sweet-spot scores for four Babolat rackets. Round heads put the sweet spot where you expect it. Teardrops move it higher and make it smaller. Padelful sweet-spot scores out of 10 (axis starts at 6). Counter Veron score is for the 2025 edition.

Where the Air Veron sits among Babolat rackets

The Veron family shares one recipe, Black EVA and Carbon Flex, in three shapes. The Counter Veron is the round version, the Technical Veron 3.0 is the diamond, and the Air sits between. Below the Veron family, the softer Air Vertuo 2.6 is the lighter, cheaper teardrop, and the older 330 g Dyna Energy is lighter still.

Who should skip the Air Veron

Beginners, for a start. A compact sweet spot rewards technique that has not arrived yet (Babolat's entry Air Crest is far more forgiving, and Babolat's lighter round Stima Energy has a much bigger one), and the best padel racket for beginners list is built around rounder, bigger faces. Heavy hitters should also look elsewhere; if finishing is the point, the diamond padel rackets page is the place to start.

Not for you if

You mishit often or want the racket to supply the pace. With a 7.4 sweet spot and 8.1 power, off-centre contact is punished and nothing is given for free. The Counter Veron or a round racket from our control padel rackets page is a gentler choice.

Setting up an Air Veron

Babolat recommends its Syntec Team grip. A tacky overgrip such as the Babolat VS overgrip is the usual extra, and our padel grips page explains replacement grips against overgrips. Add frame tape from the racket protector range, since a quick racket tends to meet the floor more often.

A tube of Babolat Court balls keeps the bounce lively for a racket that supplies modest power, and the padel balls page explains how fast pressure fades. The Babolat RH Pro bag carries it, the padel bags page has alternatives, and court shoes are on our padel shoes page.

To see how it stacks up, the full padel racket range is on one page, the teardrop padel rackets page compares shapes and balance in millimetres, and our guide to choosing a padel racket explains why shape matters. The best padel racket for intermediate players list is the natural next stop.
