Babolat Court Backpack Hero (30 L, 2 Rackets)

£49.29

The Babolat Court Backpack Hero is a 30-litre backpack with a dedicated compartment for two racquets, two main compartments, two side pockets, a zipped accessory pocket and a laptop compartment. It suits a player who commutes to the court with a laptop and wants one bag for the office and the game.

Babolat describes it as a tennis backpack and does not mention padel on its page, though two padel rackets fit the dedicated compartment's capacity. It lists no thermal lining and no separate shoe compartment, and we would not assume either.

It is made from 100 per cent recycled polyester, with a recycled PET outer and a dye-free lining.

What fits in the Court Backpack Hero

Babolat's UK page lists a dedicated racquet compartment for two racquets, two main compartments, a zipped accessory pocket, two side pockets and a laptop compartment. The bag measures 24 x 29 x 50 cm and carries on two straps or one handle.

In practice that means two rackets in their own space, a laptop and a change of clothes in the main compartments, and a water bottle and keys in the pockets. A pair of padel shoes will fit in a main compartment, but the page lists no separate shoe pocket, so expect them to sit near your clothes.

A tennis backpack for padel?

Babolat's page for the Hero talks about tennis and does not mention padel, but its capacity is two racquets, and a padel racket's frame is smaller than a tennis racket's. Two padel rackets should fit the racquet compartment with room to spare, though we have not measured it and Babolat does not state the compartment's internal dimensions.

The thing a tennis backpack will not do is protect a padel racket's head from a squeezed main compartment. A padel racket cover such as Babolat's Padel/Pickleball cover from the padel racket protector range or a slim cover is cheap insurance if you pack the bag full.

Who should skip the Court Backpack Hero

Players who need thermal protection, a shoe compartment or space for four rackets. The Hero lists none of those, and a backpack shape is no good for a bag full of kit. Our padel bags page explains the shapes, and for a backpack with a ventilated shoe section there is Siux's Pro Tour, though it publishes no size, StarVie's Hard EVA backpack adds a laptop compartment and a shoe section, while for four rackets the RH Perf 2nd Gen is the value step up, while the bigger racket bags have separate shoe sections.

Not for you if

You want a thermal pocket, a shoe compartment or a padel-specific racket sleeve. The Hero lists none of them and is sold as a tennis backpack. The padel bags range has padel-specific options.

What to put in the Hero

Two rackets from our padel racket range fit in the racquet compartment, for example the forgiving Air Origin and the soft Counter Vertuo 2.6. Keep a spare overgrip from the padel grips page in the accessory pocket.

A tube of padel balls fits in a side pocket or a main compartment, and our padel shoes page covers court shoes. Our guide to choosing a padel racket covers what a second racket should be.
