Black Crown Patron Xtreme Padel Racket (2025)

£187.20

The Black Crown Patron Xtreme padel racket, which the brand and most reviewers spell Xtrem, is a medium-hard 2025 racket for intermediate to advanced players: a 12K carbon face over a Power EVA core, listed at 355 to 370 g. Padelful rates it 7.9 overall with a leaning towards rebound and control.

Listings are far from agreed on it. Shape runs from tear to hybrid to teardrop, balance from medium to head-heavy, and one retailer says an 18K face where others say 12K. This page sets those differences out so you know what to check.

Patron Xtrem review: firm, even and a bit lively

Padelful's scores are tightly bunched: rebound 8.1, control 8.0, power 7.9, sweet spot 7.8 and manoeuvrability 7.7. That points to a firm all-rounder that returns the ball with some pace, rather than a racket with a single party trick. The review describes a medium-high balance that helps volleys and smashes.

The face is 12K carbon on Padelful, Padelmarket and Padel Nuestro, over a Power EVA core and a carbon frame, with a medium-hard feel. That is firmer than the Iconic and the Hurricane Confort, so expect less cushioning on mishits and a crisper response on clean contact.

Bar chart of Padelful ratings for the Black Crown Patron Xtrem 2025: rebound 8.1, control 8.0, power 7.9, overall 7.9, sweet spot 7.8 and manoeuvrability 7.7

Xtrem or Xtreme, and who is it for?

Black Crown writes it Xtrem, a few shops write Extrem and plenty write Xtreme, so all three searches land on the same racket. The bigger confusion is its purpose. Padelmarket calls it a control racket for beginner and intermediate players, while Padel Nuestro and Padel Kiwi market it to advanced, offensive players. Padelful sits between them at intermediate to advanced.

We would treat it as a firm intermediate-to-advanced racket and not as a beginner's pick. The lighter, softer route is the Iconic, and the 2025 all-rounder from the same line is the Patron Gold.

Who should skip the Patron Xtrem

Beginners, players with arm trouble and anyone who needs an exact spec before buying. A medium-hard racket transmits more vibration, so start with our beginner padel rackets if you are new. For a wider look at the level this racket sits in, see the intermediate padel rackets page.

Not for you if

You want a soft, forgiving first racket, you are sensitive to vibration or you need an agreed balance point. Listings give medium, medium-high and head-heavy for the same racket.

Setting up a Patron Xtrem

A racket protector and a fresh overgrip from the padel grips range are the first buys, since a firmer racket benefits from a cushioned grip. Use consistent padel balls, wear padel shoes with a proper herringbone sole and keep it in a padel bag with a thermal pocket.

Our guide to choosing a padel racket explains shape and balance, the teardrop padel rackets page covers the head type listed by Padelful and the full padel racket range has the rest.
