Black Crown Patron Padel Racket: Gold 2025

£183

The Black Crown Patron padel racket in its Gold 2025 version is a lively all-rounder for intermediate to advanced players: a 12K carbon face over an EVA 3XPlay core on a carbon frame, listed at 355 to 370 g with a medium feel. It suits someone who wants a bit of everything and no particular extreme.

Padelful rates it 7.9 overall, with rebound the standout at 8.5 and the rest sitting between 7.7 and 7.9. Shape is called tear by Padelful and hybrid by some shops, and no balance figure is published, so the page says what is known and leaves the rest open.

Patron Gold 2025 review: lively, even and unfussy

Padelful's scores read like a racket with no strong opinions. Control 7.9, sweet spot 7.9, power 7.7 and manoeuvrability 7.7 are all close together, and rebound stands out at 8.5. In practice that points to a racket that returns the ball with some life without needing a full swing, which helps on blocks and defensive volleys.

The face is 12K carbon and the core is EVA 3XPlay, with a medium feel rather than a soft or a stiff one. One retailer also mentions a vibration-damping insert on the frame, though nobody else confirms it. We found no independent lab or tester report, so these scores are one reviewer's view.

Bar chart of Padelful ratings for the Black Crown Patron Gold 2025: rebound 8.5, control 7.9, sweet spot 7.9, power 7.7, manoeuvrability 7.7 and overall 7.9

Patron Gold, Xtrem, Kore or Global?

Black Crown sells the Patron in several versions and the names overlap. This page covers the Gold 2025. The Patron Xtrem is also a 2025 racket, and the 2026 range has the attacking Patron Kore and the Patron Global. Check the year and spec sheet on whichever you choose, because a Patron without a suffix is easy to confuse.

Shape is the other trap. Padelful calls the Gold a tear and a retailer calls it hybrid, which are near neighbours rather than opposites. Weight is the same story: 355 to 370 g depending on the listing, so weigh the racket when it arrives.

Who should skip the Patron Gold

Beginners are better served by a lighter, softer racket from our beginner padel rackets page. Players who want a specialist, either a heavy attacker or a very soft control racket, will find the Gold too middle-of-the-road. For a wider comparison start with the intermediate padel rackets page.

Not for you if

You want a specialist racket, you are a beginner or you need a verified balance point. The Gold is a competent all-rounder with no standout trait except rebound.

Setting up a Patron

Start with a racket protector, then add a fresh overgrip from the padel grips range. Quality padel balls show off a lively core, padel shoes keep you balanced on the turf and a padel bag with a thermal pocket guards the face.

Our guide to choosing a padel racket explains shape and weight, the teardrop padel rackets page covers this head type and the full padel racket range has the rest.

Black Crown Patron Padel Racket: Gold 2025: questions people ask

Is the Black Crown Patron Gold the same as the Patron Xtrem?

No. Both are 2025 Patron rackets but they are separate models, so check each spec sheet. The Gold carries a 12K carbon face and an EVA 3XPlay core.

Is the Black Crown Patron a good racket for intermediate players?

Yes. Padelful points it at intermediate to advanced players, and its even scores and lively rebound suit someone building their game.

Is the Patron Gold round, teardrop or hybrid?

Padelful calls it a tear and some retailers call it hybrid. Both describe a head between round and diamond.

How heavy is the Black Crown Patron Gold?

Listings give 355 to 370 g, so choose by feel. If you are near the limit of what you like, the range is wide enough to matter.

What is the difference between the Patron Gold 2025 and the Patron Kore 2026?

They are different models in different seasons. The Kore is the 2026 racket, listed with a 24K carbon face and a 3XPLAY multi-density core.

How long does a Black Crown Patron last?

With a protector and a bag, a couple of seasons of regular play. Heat and impacts on the frame wear it faster than rallies do.
