Black Crown Hurricane Pro 4.0 Padel Racket (2026)

£207

The Black Crown Hurricane Pro 4.0 padel racket is the current Hurricane for advanced players who would rather place the ball than hit it through the glass: a 12K Power carbon face on an SC Black EVA core and a 2TB Air carbon frame, listed at 355 to 370 g. Padelful scores its sweet spot at 9.1 and its control at 9.0.

The trade is power, which is its lowest score at 7.6. Sources also disagree on whether the head is round or teardrop, and none of them publishes a balance point, so this page says what is known and what is not.

Hurricane Pro 4.0 review: a big sweet spot, not a big hit

Padelful's write-up calls it a control-first racket, and its ratings agree: sweet spot 9.1, control 9.0, manoeuvrability 8.5, rebound 8.3 and power 7.6. The feel is described as medium-soft. In plain terms, off-centre contact stays playable and the racket is quick to bring round at the net, but you supply most of the pace on a smash.

The face is 12K Power carbon, the core is SC Black EVA and the frame is a 2TB Air carbon tube. Those are the same ingredients family as the Pro 3.0, with a different core colour and a firmer description. We found no independent lab test, so treat the scores as one reviewer's view.

Bar chart of Padelful ratings for the Black Crown Hurricane Pro 4.0: sweet spot 9.1, control 9.0, manoeuvrability 8.5, rebound 8.3 and power 7.6

Round or teardrop, and where is the balance?

Padelful lists the shape as round with a low balance in the text. At least one retailer lists the Pro 4.0 as a teardrop built for attack, and some shops label the same racket 2027 where others say 2026. Weight is the one number everyone shares: 355 to 370 g.

Nobody gives a balance point in millimetres, so we are not going to either. Weigh it when it arrives. If you want the older version for comparison, the Hurricane Pro 3.0 is the 2025 racket, and the softer Hurricane Confort 4.0 puts comfort first.

Table comparing the Black Crown Hurricane Pro 3.0 and Pro 4.0: face, core, frame, weight, feel and shape

Who should skip the Pro 4.0

Beginners, and anyone hoping the racket will do the work on a smash. It is an advanced racket with the lowest score on power, so a player who rarely finishes points may prefer the extra pop of a diamond padel racket. The control padel rackets and advanced padel rackets pages set it against the rest of the field. If you want forgiveness before precision, the Black Crown Iconic is the softer tear-shaped alternative, the round Piton 14 is the quicker-handling rival, the Enebe Genius Red is a round alternative from Spain, and the Patron Gold is a livelier all-rounder from 2025.

Not for you if

You are still learning, you want easy power or you need a verified balance point. Power is its weakest score and the sources split on shape.

Setting up a Hurricane Pro 4.0

A racket protector goes on first, then a fresh overgrip from the padel grips range. Lively padel balls suit a medium-soft core, and padel shoes matter more than people think for a handling racket. A padel bag with a thermal pocket protects the face, and the matching Hurricane Pro 4.0 bag is one.

Our guide to choosing a padel racket explains shape and weight, the teardrop padel rackets page covers the other reading of this head, and the full padel racket range has the rest.

Black Crown Hurricane Pro 4.0 Padel Racket (2026): questions people ask

Is the Black Crown Hurricane Pro 4.0 the same as the Pro 3.0?

No. The 4.0 is the newer racket with an SC Black EVA core and a 12K Power carbon face. The 3.0 is the 2025 version with an SC White core.

Is the Hurricane Pro 4.0 a 2026 or 2027 racket?

Shops label it both ways. Padelful lists it as 2026 and at least one retailer lists it as 2027. It is the same 4.0 line, so check the listing details.

Is the Hurricane Pro 4.0 round or teardrop?

Padelful says round and some retailers say teardrop. Neither group publishes a balance point, so weigh it and judge in hand.

Is the Hurricane Pro 4.0 good for intermediate players?

Listings point to advanced players. A confident intermediate with clean technique can use it, but the lower power score gives no help on a smash.

How heavy is the Hurricane Pro 4.0?

Listings give 355 to 370 g. Choose by weight in hand, since the printed range is wide.

What is the difference between the Hurricane Pro 4.0 and the Confort 4.0?

The Confort 4.0 is the softer, comfort-first Hurricane and the Pro 4.0 is the more technical one with a medium-soft feel.
