Black Crown Piton 14 Padel Racket (2026)

£154.80

The Black Crown Piton 14 padel racket is the 2026 round racket for intermediate and advanced players who play for placement: a 3K carbon face over an SC Black EVA core on a tubular carbon frame, listed at 355 to 370 g. Padelful scores it 8.3 overall, with manoeuvrability the top mark at 8.6.

Power is the soft spot at 7.6. If your game is built on steady volleys, a reliable bandeja and consistent defence, the Piton 14 will feel at home. If you want the racket to hit through the court for you, it will not.

Piton 14 review: quick hands, a wide sweet spot, modest power

Padelful's ratings go manoeuvrability 8.6, rebound 8.5, sweet spot 8.5, control 8.4 and power 7.6. The reviewer calls the response clean and predictable and points to a generous, centred sweet spot and a solid bandeja and vibora. The listed weaknesses are limited free power, a first volley that lacks punch and defence that needs good preparation.

Black Crown's own table gives power and control as an even 50 and 50, and a Sandspin rough finish on the face to help the ball bite. The touch is medium on Padelful and soft on one retailer, so expect something between comfortable and firm.

What is agreed about the Piton 14, and what is not

Round shape, 3K carbon and SC Black EVA are consistent across the sources. Weight is 355 to 370 g, or 360 to 370 g on one shop. Padelful describes the balance as slightly centred and leaning a little to the head, which is not the same as head heavy, while retailers simply label it medium. Nobody publishes a figure in millimetres.

For an adult starting from scratch, the cheaper round Viva is the Black Crown entry point, and the Win Carbon adds a carbon face. For a child just starting out, the fibreglass Piton Junior is the light round racket in the same family. If you want an even handier round racket, the Enebe Genius Red is a close rival. If you want more power and can live with slower hands, the teardrop Piton Epic Energy is the harder hitter. If you are choosing between this and the older one, the plain Black Crown Piton page explains the generations. For a softer-cored version of the same line, see the Piton White Soft or its firmer sibling, the 2025 Piton White, and for a sibling listing with the same name plus Global, see the Piton 14 Global.

Who should skip the Piton 14

Players who want a weapon for the smash, and complete beginners. A round, medium-feel carbon racket is a good second racket, but our beginner padel rackets page has gentler starting points. If you like the shape, the control padel rackets page lays out the field, and the intermediate padel rackets page covers the level.

Not for you if

You want free power on a smash, you are brand new to padel or you want a head-heavy attacker. Power is its lowest score and the review says it lacks punch on first volleys.

Setting up a Piton 14

Fit a racket protector, then choose a fresh overgrip from the padel grips range. Consistent padel balls help a control racket do its job, padel shoes keep your footwork tidy and a padel bag with a thermal pocket protects the face.
