It is for players who want the Piton's control with a gentler feel.

Piton White Soft or Piton White?

On paper the two are close. Both are round and listed at 360 to 370 g with a 38 mm profile. The stated difference is the core: the Soft has a dual-density EVA the retailer calls 3XPlay with a soft touch, while the standard White uses a medium EVA, called SC White EVA on one listing. Retailers give the standard White a medium-low balance; we found none for the Soft.

That points to the same racket in the hand with a more forgiving response. If you like the Piton's shape and control but want less shock, the Soft is the one to look at. If you want a firmer, more direct feel, take the standard Piton White.

What a soft core changes

A softer core lets the face flex a little more on contact, which usually means a calmer, more comfortable response and less shock reaching the arm, at the price of some pop. It is a matter of feel and not of quality, and players who feel the vibrations of a firm racket often prefer it.

It does not make the racket easy. A 3K carbon face over a dual-density core is still an intermediate-to-advanced racket by the retailer's classification, so a beginner should look further down our beginner padel rackets.

Comparison of a soft padel racket core and a medium core: the soft core flexes more and cushions shock, the medium core gives a firmer, more direct response

Where it sits in the Piton line

Black Crown renames the Piton every year. The current racket is the Piton 14, and our Piton family page walks through the generations. The White Soft is a 2025 racket, so it is last season's, which is worth knowing if you want to match a partner's Piton 14. The 2025 Piton line is the Piton 13, but we have not confirmed that the White names map to it.

If you want the newer racket, look at the Piton 14. If you want a softer feel in a round racket from another brand, our control padel rackets page lists the alternatives.

Who should skip it

Anyone who wants a firm, precise racket or a smash weapon, and anyone who needs a review to back a purchase: there is no independent test of this racket that we could find, and no balance figure in millimetres. For a hybrid with an 18K carbon face from the same brand, see the Black Crown Gladius. A harder, crisper hybrid is the Gladius Force. The softer Hurricane is the Confort 4.0. If you are brand new to padel, the Black Crown Viva is the cheaper starter. For a tear-shaped soft racket with a big sweet spot, try the Black Crown Iconic, or for a medium-feel all-rounder the Patron Gold.

Not for you if

You want maximum power, you need the exact balance point, or you are choosing your first racket. A beginner racket will serve you better.

Setting up a Piton White Soft

Fit a racket protector first; the sandy finish takes knocks. A fresh overgrip from the padel grips page helps control, a tube from our padel balls range keeps the response honest, and a padel bag and padel shoes complete the kit.

Black Crown Piton White Soft 2025 Padel Racket: questions people ask

What is the difference between the Piton White Soft and the Piton White?

The core. The Soft has a dual-density EVA with a soft touch; the standard White has a medium EVA. Weight, shape and profile are the same on retailer listings.

Is the Black Crown Piton White Soft good for intermediate players?

Retailers class it as advanced or intermediate and control-oriented. The soft core makes it gentler than the standard, but it is not a beginner racket.

Is the Piton White Soft the same as the Piton 13?

It belongs to the 2025 Piton line, which other shops call the Piton 13, but we have not confirmed that the White Soft carries that name.

Is the Piton White Soft easier on the arm?

A soft core generally cuts shock, which many players find more comfortable. No test of this exact racket exists that we could find, so treat it as likely rather than proven.

How heavy is the Piton White Soft?

Listed at 360 to 370 g. Black Crown does not publish a balance point in millimetres that we could find.

Should I buy the Piton White Soft or the Piton 14?

The Piton 14 is the current racket and has an independent review. The White Soft is last season's and softer; choose it for the feel.
