Joma Valkiria Pro Hard Padel Racket

£143.99

The Joma Valkiria Pro Hard padel racket is Joma's firm, round, 12K carbon racket for advanced players who win points with control and timing: a medium balance, a 50/50 split of control and power, a Black EVA core in the hard HRD spec, and a weight of about 360 to 370 g. Joma writes it as Valkiria Pro HRD.

It's the top of the Valkiria line and the firmest of Joma's round rackets. If you've outgrown a soft round racket and still want a round head's big sweet spot, this is where Joma goes next.

What Joma and the shops say

Joma's page lists a round-shaped model for players looking for control and timing, at 360 to 370 g, with a medium balance and a 50/50 control and power split. The side is 12K carbon, the tubular section is 100% carbon, and the flat section is 66.67% fibreglass and 33.33% 12K carbon, filled with 100% EVA, inside Joma's Dualtech Frame. It names Aerobump Tech, Attack Touch perforations that redistribute weight and face flex, and Joma 3D Spin as the technologies, and rates the racket for a high to professional range.

Tennis Nuts adds the 38 mm profile and a Black EVA HRD core, calls it advanced, and describes a racket for competitive players who want control and precision but can still attack the overhead. It lists the head as hybrid in its spec table and round in its text. A search summary of another Joma page quotes 350 to 360 g, so weight is a range.

Where it sits among the round Jomas

Joma has three round rackets in this part of the range, and they step up in firmness. The Valkiria Flex 2026 is the soft-cored one. The Tournament Pro Iconic is the middle step, a 3K carbon racket with a medium-hard core. The Valkiria Pro HRD is the top, with 12K carbon, a hard core and a few extra grams.

The weight is the main thing the Pro HRD has that the others don't. At about 360 to 370 g it's a substantial racket, so it suits someone with a settled swing who wants stability on the volley and steady depth from the back.

Not for you if

You're new to padel, you have a sensitive elbow, or you want a light racket. It's a hard core at 360 to 370 g, rated for a high to professional level, and it won't forgive a late swing the way a soft round racket does.

Comparison of three round Joma rackets: Valkiria Flex 2026 with soft Flexo core, Tournament Pro Iconic with 3K carbon and 50 50 split, and Valkiria Pro HRD with 12K carbon, hard core and 360 to 370 grams

Who it suits

An advanced player who defends well, places the ball and builds points, and who wants a round racket without giving up firmness. It belongs beside the other control padel racket options, and among the advanced padel rackets for anyone who wants control over power. For everything else, start at padel racket.

A shop or two mixes up its names. One retailer's page address calls the Valkiria Pro HRD a Blast Pro HRD, which is a different Joma racket, so check the product code (401909.111) before you buy.

Looking after it

Fit a racket protector to the frame, keep a spare overgrip from padel grips in the bag, and use fresh padel balls, because a hard core and a flat ball are an unhappy pair. Add padel shoes and a padel bag with a thermal compartment to finish the kit.
