Pallap Velocity Pro Padel Racket

£224.95

The Pallap Velocity Pro padel racket is the top model in Pallap's 2025 Velocity range: a 365 to 370g, even-balanced frame with a 15K carbon face and an EVA 30 core, made for advanced players who want power and control in roughly equal measure.

Every source we checked agrees on the weight, balance, core and face. They don't agree on the shape. One UK retailer calls it a diamond, another seller calls it a teardrop, and we'd rather tell you that than quietly pick a side.

Diamond or teardrop? The one thing the listings disagree on

Stringers World, the UK group behind Padel Shack, lists the 2025 Velocity Pro as a diamond, and so does our own catalogue. Padelreference describes it as a teardrop with a sweet spot sitting slightly higher than usual. Both are serious padel sellers. Both can't be right.

Our gallery photo adds a third clue. Put it next to the photo of the Velocity Elite and the two outlines look like the same mould, and Tennis Warehouse Europe calls the Elite a teardrop. That leans towards Padelreference, though a photo is not a spec sheet and Pallap's own site doesn't settle it.

Our honest read: think of it as a racket with its widest point high up the head, somewhere between a classic diamond padel racket and a teardrop padel racket. If the shape label is the deciding factor for you, hold one first or ask us before ordering.

How the Velocity Pro plays

Even balance and a medium-density EVA 30 core put it in the middle of the road on paper, and the one set of scores we could find agrees. Padelreference rates it 8 out of 10 for power, control, comfort and spin, with 7 for manoeuvrability and 7 for tolerance. Flat numbers like that usually mean a racket without a weak spot, and without a party trick either.

Those two 7s matter more than the 8s. Tolerance is forgiveness on off-centre hits, so a player who still catches the frame now and then will feel the Velocity Pro punish it a little. At 365 to 370g before an overgrip, it is also on the heavy side; arms that tire late in a third set will notice.

The rough Hyperspin face is there for bite on slices and kick smashes. Pallap pairs it with what Padelreference calls a Super Rotation Hole pattern and a Bridge Stabilizer in the throat to cut twisting on impact, the same stabiliser idea named across the Power Pro and Evoforce ranges.

Velocity Pro against the rest of the Velocity range

Pallap's Velocity name has carried two lines. At the US launch the brand sold a Power Velocity Pro 01 (a diamond with an EVA 30 core and a 12K basalt-carbon face) and a Control Velocity Pro 01 (a teardrop with a much harder EVA 40). The 2025 Velocity Pro we stock drops the prefix and moves to a 15K carbon face, so treat it as its own racket rather than a renamed 01.

Inside our range, the closest relative is the Velocity Elite, which shares the EVA 30 core but uses a 12K face, runs about 5g lighter and is pitched at intermediates. The Power Velocity Elite 01 is the clear attacker of the family: head-heavy, softer EVA 28 foam.

Who should buy it

Advanced players who play both sides of the court and want one racket that will defend from the back glass and still finish a ball at the net. It sits comfortably among our advanced padel rackets, and suits someone who has outgrown an intermediate frame but doesn't want a head-heavy diamond that only rewards the smash.

Not for you if

You're still learning to find the middle of the face, or you want something light. The 7 for tolerance and the 365 to 370g weight both work against you there. The Velocity Star and Velocity Team Light are the gentler Velocity options, and our padel racket range has plenty below 360g.

Setting it up

A rough face scuffs, so a padel racket protector along the top of the frame earns its keep from the first session. Each overgrip from our padel grip range adds a few grams and thickens the handle, so fit one and play with it before adding a second.

Fresh padel balls show what a spin face can do far better than a dead tube from last month. Keep it in a padel bag with a thermal pocket, as carbon and EVA don't enjoy a hot car boot, and give your feet the same respect with padel shoes built for sand-filled turf. If you're still weighing shapes, our guide on how to choose a padel racket covers it.

Pallap Velocity Pro Padel Racket: questions people ask

Is the Pallap Velocity Pro the same racket as the Power Velocity Pro 01?

Not quite. The Power Velocity Pro 01 from Pallap's US launch used a 12K basalt-carbon face; the 2025 Velocity Pro moves to a 15K carbon face and drops the Power or Control prefix. Both use an EVA 30 core.

Is the Pallap Velocity Pro a diamond or a teardrop?

Sources disagree. A UK retailer lists it as a diamond, Padelreference as a teardrop, and our photo shows the same outline as the Velocity Elite, which is sold as a teardrop. Expect a head that is widest fairly high up.

Velocity Pro or Velocity Elite: which should I pick?

Pick the Elite if you play at intermediate level and want a slightly lighter racket. The Pro suits advanced players, with a 15K face over the same EVA 30 core and about 5g more weight.

What level is the Pallap Velocity Pro for?

Advanced and competitive players. Its tolerance score of 7 out of 10 from Padelreference means mistimed shots are punished more than on a beginner or intermediate frame.

How long will the rough face on the Velocity Pro keep its grip?

Rough faces wear smoother with play and with ball contact on the frame edges. A frame protector slows the edge damage; the face itself loses bite gradually, faster if you play several times a week.
