Pallap Velocity Star Padel Racket (2026)

£152.10

The Pallap Velocity Star padel racket is the 2026 all-rounder of Pallap's teardrop Velocity line: 355 to 365g, a mid-range balance and a 15K Alumatrix carbon face, made for intermediate and advanced players who build a point patiently and then pick the moment to hit through it.

It won't win a smash contest against a head-heavy diamond. What it does well is sit in the middle, forgiving enough to defend from the glass and lively enough to finish a volley.

Pallap's 2026 all-rounder, and what that means on court

Tennis Warehouse Europe calls the Velocity Star the most versatile racket in Pallap's range, and the numbers back the description up. A balance point of 255 to 260mm is neither head-light nor top-heavy. The EVA Fusion 30 foam is a medium-density core, and the teardrop head gives a larger, more forgiving sweet spot than Pallap's diamonds.

In practice that means a racket you don't have to fight. Blocks off a hard smash come back without much drama, a bandeja keeps its shape, and when a loose ball sits up at the net the 15K Alumatrix face (an aluminised carbon weave) has enough snap to put it away. The rough Spindriver 3D texture on the face is there to help slice bite.

Weight depends on who you ask. Tennis Warehouse Europe lists 355 to 360g, iPon Tennis 355 to 365g, and Padelspeed's 2026 roundup 360 to 365g before an overgrip. Expect the upper half of that range once grip tape and a cord are on.

The Bright Star's build in a plainer package

Put the spec sheets side by side and the Velocity Star turns out to share most of its construction with the Evoforce Bright Star: the same 15K Alumatrix face, the same Dual Carbon frame, the same EVA Fusion 30 foam. The Bright Star adds a second PN layer to the core and sits slightly lighter and lower in the balance, so it moves faster in the hand. The Velocity Star is the simpler, slightly weightier take on the same recipe.

Its other twin is a diamond. The Power Star 2026 has an identical 255 to 260mm balance but swaps the teardrop for a diamond head and a Puretouch 28 core, which shifts the sweet spot up and rewards a full overhead swing. If you can't decide between the two, the shape is the whole question.

Inside the Velocity name itself, the 2025 Velocity Elite is the closest older teardrop (EVA 30 core, 12K face), the Velocity Pro is the heavier advanced model, the Velocity Team Light is the lighter way into the family, and the Power Velocity Elite 01 is the head-heavy Power Velocity diamond for players who want the opposite of what this racket does.

What the measured numbers say

iPon Tennis publishes four measured figures for this racket, which is more than most shops bother with: a 26cm balance point, a stiffness reading of 86, a swingweight (they call it inertia) of 142.5 and a twistweight of 17.2. Swingweight is how heavy the racket feels moving through the air rather than sitting on a scale; twistweight is how well it resists turning in your hand when you catch the ball off-centre.

We haven't measured it ourselves, and one shop's numbers without a comparison set only tell you so much. Read them as a sanity check on the brand's "versatile" claim rather than a verdict.

Who it suits, and who should look elsewhere

A good fit for an improving player who has started to play competitive league matches and wants something more responsive than a beginner frame without jumping straight to a power diamond. It belongs among our teardrop padel rackets and sits comfortably in the best padel rackets for intermediate players.

Last season's Velocity Star was listed lighter and more even (one retailer gave 350 to 355g and a 250mm balance), so if you're upgrading from the 2025 model, expect the 2026 version to feel a little more head-ward.

Skip it if

You're in your first year of padel and still mistime a lot of shots; a lighter, softer frame from the padel racket range will be kinder on the arm. Equally, if the smash is your favourite shot, a diamond like the Power Star will give you more for your money.

Kit to go with it

Most of a padel racket's knocks land on the top edge, off the glass or the floor, so a frame protector is cheap insurance. Most players put one overgrip from our padel grip range straight on; that's also where those extra few grams come from.

Fresh padel balls matter on a textured face, because a flat ball won't take the spin. Carry it in a padel bag with a thermal compartment, wear proper padel shoes on sand-filled turf, and if you're comparing shapes before buying, our guide on how to choose a padel racket walks through the trade-offs.

Pallap Velocity Star Padel Racket (2026): questions people ask

Is the Velocity Star 2026 the same racket as the Evoforce Bright Star?

No, but they are close. Both use a 15K Alumatrix face, a Dual Carbon frame and EVA Fusion 30 foam. The Bright Star adds a PN layer to the core and is a little lighter, with a lower balance.

Is the Pallap Velocity Star good for intermediate players?

Yes. Retailers pitch it at intermediate to advanced players, and the teardrop head and medium-density core make it forgiving enough for someone who has moved past beginner rackets.

Velocity Star or Power Star 2026: which is better for me?

Both share a 255 to 260mm balance. Choose the Velocity Star for a teardrop that defends and attacks equally; choose the Power Star if you want a diamond head and more reward on the smash.

How heavy is the Pallap Velocity Star 2026?

Sellers list between 355 and 365g for the racket alone. An overgrip adds a few grams more.

How do I stop the Velocity Star face from chipping?

Fit a frame protector along the top edge before your first session, avoid scraping the racket on the court when picking balls up, and keep it out of hot cars, where carbon and foam can suffer.
