Pallap Velocity Team Light Padel Racket (2026)

£89.54

The Pallap Velocity Team Light padel racket is the lightest racket in Pallap's Velocity range: a 340 to 345g teardrop with a low balance, a soft Puretouch 28 foam core and a fibreglass face, made for the first year or two of padel and for anyone who wants an easy swing.

Nothing about it is aggressive. That is rather the point.

  • 250 to 255mm balance
  • Teardrop shape
  • Fibreglass face
  • Puretouch 28 foam
  • Dual Carbon frame

A light teardrop for the early years

Tennis Warehouse Europe lists it at 340 to 345g with a 250 to 255mm balance point, so the weight sits nearer your hand than the tip. Light and low-balanced together make a racket that gets to the ball quickly at the net and doesn't drag on your wrist by the end of a long evening session.

The fibreglass face is softer than carbon, which matters more than any spec sheet suggests when you're new. A mistimed shot still carries some depth instead of dying in the net, and less of the shock travels up the arm. Pair that with a teardrop head and the sweet spot is generous, though the shape does sit it a little higher than a round racket would.

Chart of weight ranges across the Pallap Velocity range, with the Velocity Team Light 2026 at 340 to 345g, well under the Star, Elite and Pro

Velocity Team Light or Evoforce Team?

Look at the two spec sheets together and you'll do a double take. Pallap's Evoforce Team is also a teardrop at 340 to 345g, also balanced at 250 to 255mm, also on a Dual Carbon frame, and the one retailer that names its core calls it Puretouch 28, the same foam as here. The one real difference is the face: 15K carbon on the Evoforce Team, fibreglass on this one.

So the choice is about feel rather than size. Carbon is stiffer and gives back a more direct, precise contact; fibreglass is more forgiving and more comfortable on the arm. If you're brand new, or your elbow has opinions, the Team Light makes more sense. If you've been playing a while and already find the middle of the face, the Evoforce Team gives you more feedback for the same weight.

What changed from the 2025 Team Light

Last season's version was sold as the Control Velocity Team Light 01. Retailers listed it with an X-Lite Pro Fiber face over an EVA 28 core at 340 to 350g, head-light and aimed at the same beginner-to-intermediate player. For 2026 Pallap has dropped the "Control" and the "01", moved the face to fibreglass, switched the foam to Puretouch 28 and listed the frame as Dual Carbon. Weight and balance barely moved.

Who will outgrow it

Beginners, improvers and lighter-framed players who value comfort over punch will get plenty out of it. It sits naturally with our best padel rackets for beginners, and among the cheap padel rackets it is one of the lighter teardrops we list.

Not for you if

You already hit hard and want the racket to add pace. A low balance and a fibreglass face won't finish many smashes for you. Once that day comes, the Velocity Star is the obvious next racket in the same family, and the full padel racket range has heavier options from every brand we stock.

Getting started with it

New players catch the floor and the glass more than they'd like to admit, so a padel racket protector along the frame is worth fitting on day one. An overgrip from our padel grip range gives a better hold and adds only a few grams to a racket this light.

You'll want a tube of decent padel balls, a pair of padel shoes with a herringbone sole for sand-filled turf, and somewhere to keep it all: any padel bag or backpack with a racket sleeve will do. If you're still deciding on shape or weight, our guide on how to choose a padel racket explains the trade-offs.

Pallap Velocity Team Light Padel Racket (2026): questions people ask

Is the Velocity Team Light 2026 the same as the Control Velocity Team Light 01?

It replaces it. The 2025 Control Velocity Team Light 01 used an X-Lite Pro Fiber face and an EVA 28 core; the 2026 Velocity Team Light moves to a fibreglass face and Puretouch 28 foam at much the same weight.

Is the Pallap Velocity Team Light a good first padel racket?

Yes. It is light, low-balanced and forgiving, with a fibreglass face that is kind to the arm. Retailers pitch it at beginners and intermediate players.

What is the difference between the Velocity Team Light and the Evoforce Team?

Mainly the face. Both are 340 to 345g teardrops with a 250 to 255mm balance and a Dual Carbon frame, and both appear to use Puretouch 28 foam. The Team Light has a softer fibreglass face; the Evoforce Team uses 15K carbon.

How much does the Pallap Velocity Team Light weigh?

Retailers list 340 to 345g before an overgrip, making it the lightest of the Velocity rackets we stock.

How long will a Velocity Team Light last a beginner?

Physically, several seasons if you protect the frame and keep it out of hot cars. In playing terms, most people move to something heavier or stiffer once they start winning points with power rather than placement.
