Royal Padel M27 Light review: control and easy handling

Padelful describes an easy swing and a calm, comfortable response. The ball exit is lively without being unstable, the sweet spot is large and forgiving, and the racket absorbs vibration well over a long session. Defence, lobs, net play and the bandeja all come easily, which is what you want from a light round racket.

The limits are in attack. Padelful notes limited smash power, and says offensive shots need good technique and body involvement, especially from low balls. The power score of 6.6 backs that up. This is a racket that wins you points by keeping the ball in and forcing your opponent to hit up.

Bar chart of Padelful scores for the Royal Padel M27 Light 2026: control 9.1, manoeuvrability 9.1, sweet spot 9.0, rebound 8.9, overall 8.5, power 6.6

Balance: low, medium or even?

Royal Padel and Racketguide give a medium balance. PadelScout says low-medium, Padelful's review says low-to-medium, one reviewer says even and Esprit Padel lists low. Nobody gives a balance point in millimetres. The common thread is that this is not a head-heavy racket, which fits a light round control build.

Padelful's page also muddles the frame, listing carbon in its data and fibreglass in its review text, while Racketguide gives a 3K carbon frame and face. We go with the 3K carbon face that every source agrees on, and we would weigh the racket when it arrives.

Who should skip the M27 Light

For something much harder-hitting from the same brand, see the diamond Japan Pro Red. Players who finish points with smashes and anyone who wants a racket that does the work for them on low balls. The M27 Light rewards timing and technique, and a heavier, head-biased racket will do more of the hitting. Attackers can look at the diamond padel racket page. If you are newer to the game, the beginner padel rackets page is the place to start, and the control padel racket page compares the round field.

Not for you if

You want a power racket for smashes. Padelful scores power at 6.6 and says offensive shots need good technique. Our listing is the 2026 light version, and Royal Padel weighs each racket individually.

Setting up an M27 Light

A racket protector is worth fitting on a racket you play with every week, and a fresh overgrip from the padel grips range helps a light racket feel stable. Fresh padel balls keep the pace lively, decent padel shoes support the quick footwork a light racket invites, and a padel bag with a thermal pocket protects the core from heat.

Our guide to choosing a padel racket explains shape and balance, and the full padel racket range has the rest.
