adidas RX Series Light 2026 Padel Racket

£82.49

The adidas RX Series Light is the lighter version of adidas's soft beginner racket: a fibreglass face over an EVA Soft Performance core, listed by retailers at 345 to 360 g, with very quick, easy handling and a forgiving sweet spot. It is for new players, lighter players and anyone who wants a racket that is calm on contact.

Padelful scores it 7.1 overall, led by manoeuvrability at 7.7. Power is 6.4, which is the point: this is a racket for placement, not for finishing.

RX Series Light or RX Series?

The standard adidas RX Series is a 360 to 375 g racket; the Light is listed 15 g lighter. Everything else you can compare is the same: fibreglass face, soft EVA core, comfortable response. A lighter frame is easier to swing and kinder to the elbow, and it is quicker to react at the net. The standard has a little more stability behind the ball.

Choose the Light if you are smaller, newer to racket sports, or you play long evenings and your arm tires. Choose the standard if you are tall, strong or coming from tennis.

How the RX Series Light plays

Padelful's page describes a racket that is light in the hand and calm on contact. The takeaways it gathers say the same: very quick, easy handling, a generous, forgiving sweet spot and comfortable bandejas and víboras. One source suggests it suits intermediates who want control and manoeuvrability; another points at recreational players and beginners.

What it lacks is bite. Padelful lists limited smash power and a lack of heavy overhead bite, and nothing here is built for aggressive finishing. A fibreglass face on a light frame will not get the ball off the bat at 100 km/h, and it will not try.

Where the sources disagree

The Padelful page carries a weight of 310 to 330 and calls the shape a tear, while its own takeaways describe a round racket, and retailers list 345 to 360 g. We use the retailer weight and say so. Treat the exact figure as a range until the racket is in your hands.

The materials are not in doubt: a fibreglass face and a soft EVA core. Balance is described as medium by one source, and we could not find a millimetre figure.

When to move on from the RX Series Light

Players who stay on a racket like this for six to twelve months usually leave because they want more pace (the Royal Padel M27 Light is a carbon step up in control). The natural step up is the fibreglass Metalbone Team Light, which Padelful scores at 8.2 (the even softer Metalbone Superlight is the easiest swing of the lot), and then a carbon racket such as the Metalbone Carbon Ctrl. Our intermediate padel racket page compares the whole field.

Not for you if

You already rally cleanly, you finish with a smash, or you want a published weight and balance before buying. The lightest, softest racket is not the one that adds power.

What else a new player needs

A racket protector goes on first. Add the adidas overgrip 3-pack and see the padel grips page for the rest. Fresh adidas Speed RX balls and our padel balls guide cover the next part, and padel shoes matter because trainers slide on sand.

adidas RX Series Light 2026 Padel Racket: questions people ask

Is the adidas RX Series Light the same as the RX Series?

Same family, lighter weight. The Light is listed at 345 to 360 g and the standard RX Series at 360 to 375 g, with the same fibreglass face and soft core.

Is the RX Series Light good for beginners?

Yes. It is light, soft and forgiving, and Padelful notes very quick, easy handling. It will not give you much power.

Is the RX Series Light a good racket for women?

It is a unisex adult racket, and the lighter weight suits smaller adults. Our women's padel racket page compares the options, and the adidas Arrow Hit Junior covers younger children.

Is the RX Series Light round or teardrop?

Sources disagree. Most describe a round racket, while one page header calls the shape a tear. Look at the head in the photo before you buy.

How heavy is the adidas RX Series Light?

Retailers list 345 to 360 g. One review page prints 310 to 330, which does not match retailers, so we treat 345 to 360 g as the working figure.

How long does a soft fibreglass racket like the RX Series Light last?

With a protector and sensible storage, a couple of seasons. Most players move up because they want more pace, not because it fails.
