adidas Metalbone Superlight 2026 Padel Racket

£109.99

The adidas Metalbone Superlight is the lightest and softest racket carrying the Metalbone name: 345 to 360 g, a fibreglass face over an EVA Soft Performance core, and a medium-soft feel. It is for players who want an easy swing, quick reactions at the net and a forgiving sweet spot, and who do not mind that it lacks punch.

Padelful scores it 7.8 overall, with rebound at 8.5 and manoeuvrability at 8.0. Power is 6.9. Its reviewer puts it plainly: it does not hit with serious authority.

adidas Metalbone Superlight review: very easy, not very strong

Testers found a very easy swing speed, quick reactions at the net and a generous, forgiving sweet spot. PadelScout calls it very manoeuvrable and comfortable, and another source says extremely high manoeuvrability. That all follows from a light frame and a soft face.

The cost is authority. Padelful lists limited raw attacking punch and a soft feel that lacks sting, and the review's conclusion says it knows what it is and stays there. For a player who builds points with blocks and bandejas, that is a fair trade.

Superlight, Team Light or RX Series Light?

adidas makes several light fibreglass rackets in the same weight band. The Metalbone Team Light is the better handler and the more controlled one, scoring 8.5 for control against 7.5. The RX Series Light is the plainer beginner racket with weaker scores across the sheet. The Superlight sits between them: as much rebound as the Team Light, less control, more than the RX.

Sources disagree about its shape. The licensee's sheet says round and Padelful says tear. We cannot settle it from here, so look at the head in the photo.

Who should skip the Superlight

Anyone who wins points with the smash, who wants the sting of a carbon face or who would prefer the extra control of the Team Light. If you want a lively carbon alternative in the same weight band, see the round Metalbone Ctrl.

Not for you if

You rely on heavy hitting to finish points, or you want a crisp carbon response. The Superlight is deliberately soft.
