The Softee Trionic Light padel racket is the lightest of Softee's fibreglass rackets, 320 to 340g with an EVA Extrasoft core, made for beginners, lighter players and anyone whose arm prefers a racket that does the work quietly.

It moves fast and forgives a lot. Don't expect it to win you many points with the smash.

The lightest of Softee's three fibreglass rackets

Softee sells three fibreglass rackets that we stock, and they line up neatly by weight. The Phantom and the Trionic Fiber both sit somewhere between 350 and 370g. The Trionic Light comes in roughly 30g lighter, at 320 to 340g according to both the UK retailer listing and Padelful.

Thirty grams doesn't sound much until the third set. A lighter racket gets back into position faster after each shot, takes less effort to lift for a high volley, and tires the shoulder and elbow less over a long session. The flip side is that it carries less momentum into the ball, so you have to supply more of the pace yourself.

Weight ranges of Softee fibreglass padel rackets: Trionic Light 320 to 340g against the Phantom at 350 to 370g and Trionic Fiber at 355 to 370g

Fast hands, soft arm, modest smash

Padelful's entry for the 2026 Trionic Light, which draws on a French review from AvisPadel, gives it 9.5 for rebound, manoeuvrability and sweet spot, 8 for control and 5.5 for power. Those are the most lopsided numbers of the three Softee rackets, and they tell the story plainly. It is quick at the net, generous on mishits and easy to hit deep from the back. The cons listed are equally clear: modest finishing power on the smash, a springy response on hard volleys and little bite on viboras.

The EVA Extrasoft core is the reason for both halves of that. Very soft foam stores and returns energy on slow shots, which is why the ball comes off the back glass so easily, but it gives way under a full-speed swing instead of firing the ball back.

Light, Phantom or Fiber?

Use the three like a dial. The Trionic Light is the easiest to swing and the most forgiving; the Phantom keeps almost the same forgiveness at a fuller weight; the Trionic Fiber trades some sweet spot for a bit more power. Outside Softee, Pallap's Velocity Team Light is another light fibreglass teardrop, at 340 to 345g with a low balance.

2025 listing, 2026 test: what differs

We stock the 2025 Trionic Light. The UK retailer listing for that season gives fibreglass faces and a fibreglass frame, a smooth surface and an even balance. Padelful's 2026 entry agrees on the faces, the core and the weight, but describes a mixed frame with carbon reinforcements and calls the shape a teardrop, where our catalogue says hybrid. It may be a quiet season update or simply two sources describing the same frame differently; we can't tell from the paperwork, so treat the scores as a close guide rather than a measurement of this exact racket.

Who it suits

New players, juniors moving up to a full-size racket, lighter adults and anyone nursing a tender elbow. It appears among our pink padel rackets for its mauve and pink finish, and fits naturally with the best padel rackets for beginners. If you're shopping in the women's padel rackets range for weight rather than colour, it's one of the lightest adult frames we list.

Not for you if

You hit hard, play competitively or rely on the overhead. A 5.5 for power is honest about what this racket is for. The Trionic Fiber, a carbon racket like Softee's Summit Perla or something heavier from the full padel racket range will serve a stronger player better.

Kit to match

On a racket this light every gram shows, so stick to one thin overgrip from our padel grip range, and fit a padel racket protector only if you're clipping the floor often, such as Softee's gold strip. Fresh padel balls suit a soft racket best; dead, flat balls make it feel even more short of power.

Finish the kit with padel shoes for sand-filled turf and a padel bag, and if you're comparing shapes before buying, read our guide on how to choose a padel racket.

Softee Trionic Light Padel Racket (2025): questions people ask

Is the Softee Trionic Lite the same racket as the Trionic Light?

Yes. Our product address spells it "lite", but the racket is the Softee Trionic Light, as printed on the frame and in every listing.

Is the Softee Trionic Light good for women and juniors?

It suits anyone who wants a light, forgiving racket, which includes many women and juniors moving to an adult frame. At 320 to 340g it is one of the lightest adult rackets we list.

Softee Trionic Light or Trionic Fiber: what is the difference?

The Trionic Light is about 30g lighter with a softer EVA Extrasoft core, so it is quicker and more forgiving. The Trionic Fiber is heavier and scored higher for power in Padelful's tests.

How long does a soft-core racket like the Trionic Light last?

Very soft foam loses some of its liveliness with heavy use, so a player on court several times a week will notice it feeling flatter sooner than someone who plays once a week. Protecting the frame and keeping it out of hot cars helps either way.

What does the Softee Trionic Light weigh?

Retailers and Padelful give 320 to 340g before an overgrip.
