StarVie Polaris 2026 Padel Racket

£90

The StarVie Polaris 2026 is StarVie's soft beginner racket: a 358 g teardrop with an X-Glass Tech fibreglass face, a soft S-EVA Flex core and a 38 mm profile, built for newer players who want a forgiving feel and easy handling. It is not a carbon racket, which is worth knowing because several StarVie rackets are.

Padelful scores it 6.4 overall, with rebound 6.9, sweet spot 6.6, manoeuvrability 6.5, power 6.1 and control 5.9. Those are low numbers on a scale that rewards advanced rackets, and they fit a racket meant to be gentle and cheap, not powerful.

Retailers list the balance as low or medium and the weight between 350 and 375 g, so we show the ranges.

What the Polaris 2026 is

Padelgids lists a teardrop at 358 g give or take 8, with an X-Glass Tech elastic fibreglass face carrying a textured Spin Boost surface, a soft S-EVA Flex foam core and T-Carbon tubing for structure. Geo Air Core, a hollow geometric structure in the throat, is meant to improve weight distribution and handling.

The listings disagree on two things. Padelgids says low balance and one UK retailer says medium, and weights run from 350 to 375 g across shops. We use Padelgids' figures and show the ranges.

How the Polaris plays

Padelful describes a soft, forgiving response, easy handling at the net and a generous sweet spot, especially on blocks. That is what a fibreglass face over a soft core does, and it makes the ball easy to keep in play for a newer player.

The other side of it is that overheads have limited power, volleys have little bite and you supply your own pace. Padelful's scores are low across the board, with control at 5.9, so think of it as a racket you will outgrow as your technique improves, which is what a first racket should be.

Where the Polaris sits in the StarVie range

The Polaris is the soft entry racket. The next step is the Kenta+ 2026, a round 12K carbon racket that Padelful scores much higher for rebound, handling and sweet spot, and the Astrum+ 2027 is the medium-cored teardrop above that.

At the hard end, the Black Titan is the advanced attacker. The round Arkos 2026 is the control-first sibling. If you want a first racket from another brand, the Babolat Air Origin is a similar forgiving teardrop.

Who should skip the Polaris

Anyone who already hits with pace or wants to finish points. A power score of 6.1 and a fibreglass face give you very little, and our best padel racket for intermediate players page lists rackets with more in reserve. If you are buying your first racket, the best padel racket for beginners page compares others.

Not for you if

You want power, bite or precision. Padelful lists limited overhead power, little bite in volleys and a control score of 5.9, and describes the racket as needing you to supply the pace. The teardrop padel rackets page has livelier frames.

Setting up a Polaris

A soft racket likes a tacky grip. An overgrip such as the Head Pro overgrip is the usual first extra, and our padel grips page explains when to replace instead. Frame tape from the racket protector range is worth fitting, since new players clip the floor often.

A racket that adds little pace wants live balls, so a tube of Bullpadel Next balls is a sensible companion, and the padel balls page explains how fast pressure fades. The padel bags and padel shoes pages complete the kit, and the full padel racket range and our guide to choosing a padel racket put it in context.
