Varlion LW Cube ElbowCare W Padel Racket (2025)

£309.68

The Varlion LW Cube ElbowCare W padel racket is Varlion's arm-care round for cooler courts: 350 to 360 g, a mid-low balance, a Carbon Cube face, a Prisma frame and a core Padelgids says is designed specifically for temperatures under 25 degrees. It is a quick, well-damped control racket for players who defend, block and place the ball.

Padelful gives it manoeuvrability 9.2, control 9, sweet spot 8.8, rebound 8.6 and power only 6. It is the likelier choice of the two ElbowCare versions for British courts, since the S is built for heat. Two sources, Padelful and Padelgids, agree on nearly everything.

What the ElbowCare W is

ElbowCare is Varlion's vibration-reduction system, and the W is the version tuned for cooler air. Padelful lists a Prisma bidirectional carbon tubular frame, a Carbon Cube face and a Hypersoft foam core with a medium-hard feel. Padelgids adds the SLICE texture, Difusor Wings that improve handling and cut vibration in the heart of the frame, Ergoholes, a HandleSafety cord and a self-adhesive AD protector.

Padelgids lists a 14.5 cm handle and describes it as a control racket for players who want precision, comfort and joint protection. Its stiffer sibling, built for heat, is the LW Cube ElbowCare S.

S or W: pick by the weather

Varlion tunes the core to the temperature. Padelgids says the W is designed specifically for temperatures under 25 degrees, while the S is built for heat above it. Padelful's cons for the W even list that it is less consistent above 25 degrees. British courts are often cool, so for most players this is the sensible ElbowCare, and the S is a warm-club or summer-afternoon choice.

That is guidance, not a guarantee, and a hall that runs warm all winter may suit the S. If you are unsure, consider where you play most often rather than where you will play on the hottest day.

Table choosing between the Varlion ElbowCare S and W by temperature: W for cool courts under 25 degrees, S for warm courts above 25 degrees

How it plays: quick, composed and a little muted

Padelful's pros read like a defender's wish list: quick blocks and glass recoveries, a broad sweet spot that helps defence and a damped response in cool conditions. It describes a quick, composed round that turns frantic defence into measured placement.

There is a trade. Flat smashes lack finishing power, and the damping mutes crisp feedback from the ball, which some players find dull. If you hit the ball for the sound and feel of it, try one first.

What the sources say

Padelful and Padelgids agree on the round shape, the 350 to 360 g weight, the mid-low balance, the Carbon Cube face and the Prisma frame. They word the core differently, Hypersoft foam with a medium-hard feel on one and a hard core under 25 degrees on the other, and Padelgids calls it a professional-level racket while Padelful gives no level.

The year follows the usual Varlion pattern: 2025 on Padelful and 2026 on Padelgids, with a 2025/2026 collection. Treat it as one racket.

ElbowCare W or another round Varlion

For a firm round without the damping system, look at the LW Carbon 3 Summum. The LW Carbon Black Orquidea is lighter, softer and simpler. If you want a teardrop with the same system, try the Maxima Cube ElbowCare S. Who should skip the ElbowCare W

Players who win with the smash, players who want crisp, lively feedback and anyone on warm courts all year. Beginners should start with our beginner padel rackets page, and if arm comfort is the question our intermediate padel rackets page covers other options.

Not for you if

You want flat smash power, you like crisp ball feedback or you play on warm courts all year. Padelful gives power 6 and lists muted feedback and weaker consistency above 25 degrees as cons.

Setting it up

The AD layer protects the frame, but a racket protector still helps, and the long handle takes a fresh overgrip from our padel grips range well. Use good padel balls, wear proper padel shoes and carry it in a padel bag.

For the basics of shape and weight, our guide to choosing a padel racket explains it, and the full padel racket range has the rest.

Varlion LW Cube ElbowCare W Padel Racket (2025): questions people ask

What does the W mean on the Varlion LW Cube ElbowCare W?

Padelgids ties the W to a core designed specifically for temperatures under 25 degrees. It does not say what the letter stands for. The S version is built for heat.

Is the Varlion ElbowCare W good for tennis elbow?

It carries Varlion's ElbowCare vibration system and a damped response in cool conditions. No racket is a medical fix, so try one before relying on it.

Is the ElbowCare W better than the ElbowCare S for UK courts?

Usually, since British courts are often cool and the W is tuned for under 25 degrees. The S suits warm conditions above that.

How heavy is the Varlion LW Cube ElbowCare W?

Padelful lists 350 and 360 g and Padelgids lists 350 to 360 g.

Does the ElbowCare W have much power?

No. Padelful scores power at 6 and lists a lack of finishing power on flat smashes as a con.

Is the Varlion LW Cube ElbowCare W a 2025 or 2026 racket?

Both labels appear. Padelful says 2025 and Padelgids says 2026 with a 2025/2026 collection, so treat it as one racket.
