Varlion Maxima Prisma Carbon Soft Padel Racket (2025)

£231.38

The Varlion Maxima Prisma Carbon Soft padel racket is a firm, quick teardrop for upper-intermediate and advanced players who create their own pace: 345 to 360 g, a Carrera 20K carbon and fibreglass face, a Prisma frame and a SOFTCOLOR EVA core. Padelful describes sharp direction and spin without the bulk of a diamond.

Padelful scores manoeuvrability 8.5, control 8.4, power 8.1, sweet spot 7.7 and rebound 7.1. It hits harder than the Maxima Carbon Rose and carries a harsher feel when you miss the middle. The two sources agree on the shape, weight and balance.

What the Maxima Prisma Carbon Soft is

Maxima is Varlion's teardrop, Prisma is the aerodynamic frame and Carbon Soft names the face and core variant. Padelful lists a Carrera 20K carbon and fibreglass face over a 38 mm SOFTCOLOR EVA core that feels hard in the hand, on a bidirectional carbon tubular Prisma frame. Padelgids adds ErgoSlice texture, Ergoholes, Wings Diffuser, Handlesafety and a 14.5 cm grip with an integrated adhesive protector.

Padelgids files it in the Pro Summum Prisma line and calls it a racket balanced between control and power. It shares its frame family with the diamond Bourne Prisma Carbon Soft.

How it plays: quick, firm and a bit dry

Padelful's pros are quick recovery in net exchanges, precise blocks and low-driven lobs, and strong bite on the víbora. The reviews it cites call the feel medium-firm and fairly dry. It rewards clean acceleration, and it gives you more automatic power than a round racket without the heavy head of a diamond.

The cons are honest. Defensive lobs need active acceleration, off-centre hits toward the sides feel harsh and flat smashes are not automatic. This is a racket for a player whose technique supplies the pace.

What the sources agree on

Padelful and Padelgids agree on the teardrop shape, 345 to 360 g, a medium balance and a Carrera 20K face on a Prisma frame. They differ on the core wording, SOFTCOLOR EVA with a hard feel against hard touch, and on the level, upper-intermediate to advanced against professional. The year is 2025 on Padelful and 2026 on Padelgids, with a 2025/2026 collection.

The long, 14.5 cm Summum-style grip is part of the design, so check that you like a long handle before you buy.
