Bas3line Orion 12K Padel Racket

£200

The Bas3line Orion 12K padel racket is a 335g, head-light teardrop built for control over power, with a 12K carbon face, a 3K carbon double tubular frame and a hybrid 75% EVA, 25% polyethylene core.

It's the third Bas3line racket we've written up, and the three together make a genuine spread: the Juno Attack is head-heavy, the Nebula Performance is neutral, and this Orion is head-light, the control end of the brand's range.

A more conventional shape, and a specific core blend

Bas3line calls this a "Hybrid teardrop," which, unlike the "Hybrid Round" naming on the Juno and Nebula, maps onto the teardrop category most brands already use. The face is confirmed 12K carbon fibre, matching the racket's own name, while the frame uses a different weave, 3K carbon fibre in a double tubular construction. Those are two separate parts using two different carbon grades, not a single blended spec, so we're reporting them precisely rather than calling the whole racket "12K."

The core is a hybrid of 75% soft black EVA, chosen for feel and comfort, and 25% polyethylene. Neither of the other two Bas3line rackets we've covered uses this exact blend, which fits the control-first positioning: a softer majority core with a firmer minority component for some pop without losing touch.

Where Orion sits against the Juno and Nebula

At 335g and head-light, this is the lightest, most manoeuvrable of the three Bas3line rackets we've written up, with weight pulled toward the handle rather than the head. That's the opposite end of the spectrum from the Juno Attack's head-heavy build, and it suits a different kind of player entirely: someone who wants quick hands and touch at the net rather than raw smash power.

Table comparing the Bas3line Orion, Nebula and Juno Attack by weight, balance and playing style

Who it suits

Players who prefer control over power, or who have a history of arm or elbow trouble and want a softer-feeling frame without giving up too much pop. Bas3line names three of its own players, Megan Ward, Nico Larossa and Victor Aguirre, as Orion users. If you like the shape but want a little more weight behind your drives, the Bas3line Vega is the same teardrop with a neutral balance. Quick hands at the net also want quick feet, so a decent pair of padel shoes matters as much as the racket itself.

Not for you if

You already play an aggressive, finish-at-the-net game. The head-heavy Juno Attack gives you more raw power for the same brand and price range.

Setting it up

A tacky overgrip helps with touch and feel through the handle; our padel grips page compares every finish we stock, including Bas3line's own Edge Pro overgrip. A racket protector is worth adding to guard the 12K face. For balls, our padel ball page covers every brand, including Bas3line's own Edge Pro tube, the full padel racket range has everything else if you're still comparing options, and our guide to choosing a padel racket covers shape and balance from the start.
