Head Gravity Motion Padel Racket 2024

£98.95

The Head Gravity Motion padel racket is the spin option in Head's round Gravity range: 355 g of fibreglass on Control Foam with Head's rough Spin Surface and a low balance, for club and improving players who want control with a bit of bite. Head's copy aims it at players who want to control the game in and outside the court.

Of the four 2024 Gravity rackets, it's the only fibreglass one with a textured face. That is the reason to pick it over the Gravity Team.

Head Gravity Motion: the round racket with a rough face

Head describes its Spin Surface as giving extra ball grip and spin, and on the Motion it sits on a fibreglass face over Control Foam. Round head, 498 cm², low balance: the shape is pure Gravity, built for consistency, and the texture gives slice volleys and bandejas a little more bite than the smooth-faced Gravity Team can manage.

Padelful scores it 9.0 for rebound, 9.0 for manoeuvrability, 8.6 for sweet spot, 8.0 for control and 7.1 for power, with a medium-soft feel. Among the three Gravity rackets it rates, the Motion is the quickest and has the biggest sweet spot.

Gravity Motion vs Gravity Team and Gravity Pro

Against the Gravity Pro, the Motion gives up control (8.0 against 9.4) for easier handling and more free pace off the face, and it swaps the Pro's carbon-woven face for fibreglass. Against the Gravity Team it is 5 g lighter, lower in balance, a touch more powerful, and textured. The Gravity Team Light, at 340 g, is the one for smaller players.

One note on level. Head's copy pitches the Motion at advanced and tournament players, while Tennis Nuts' spec row says intermediate. Its fibreglass face and forgiving scores point to strong club players more than tournament attackers.

Who should pick a different Gravity

Advanced players chasing precision should go straight to the Gravity Pro. Players who never slice and want the softest, smoothest feel will be just as happy with the Gravity Team. The control padel rackets page lines up round frames from every brand.

Not for you if

You finish points with the smash, or you want a racket that adds pace on its own. A 7.1 for power is honest for a round control frame. Head's teardrops in the teardrop padel rackets range give more.

Kit for a Gravity Motion

Brush grit off the rough face after outdoor sessions so the texture lasts, and fit a fresh overgrip from padel grips. A strip from the racket protector range saves the round rim from the glass. Head Gravity Motion Padel Racket 2024: questions people ask

What level is the Head Gravity Motion for?

Head's copy says advanced and tournament players; Tennis Nuts' spec row says intermediate. In practice it suits strong club players who want control with a little spin.

Head Gravity Motion or Gravity Pro?

The Gravity Pro is 365 g with a Hybrid Woven carbon face and scores 9.4 for control on Padelful. The Motion is 355 g on fibreglass, quicker and more forgiving, with 9.0 for manoeuvrability. Pick the Pro for precision, the Motion for ease.
