Head Xenon Padel Racket 2025

£54.99

The Head Xenon padel racket is a 2025 entry teardrop from HEAD: 365 g, a smooth fibreglass face, a Soft Foam core and an even balance, made for beginners and casual players who want a comfortable racket that feels steady in the hand.

It's the heaviest of the HEAD soft-foam starters we list, which is the point. Those extra grams make it feel more planted on a block than the 350 g options, without giving up the cushioned feel.

Soft foam with a bit more weight behind it

HEAD's Soft Foam is the gentlest core in its entry range. It gives on contact, takes the sting out of a mishit and sends the ball back without much effort from you. On the lighter Evo Speed that softness can feel a little flimsy when someone hits hard at you. The Xenon puts 15 g more around the same idea, with the balance in the middle, so a volley against a firm ball stays where you aimed it.

HEAD lists Power Frame construction and Innegra fibre in the frame alongside the foam, and the teardrop head keeps the sweet spot near the middle of the face. Tennis Nuts files it among its rackets for elbow protection, on the strength of the soft core's damping. A smooth face means spin comes from your technique rather than the surface.

Xenon 2025 or 2026? Check the shape

This is worth knowing before you compare prices online. Our Xenon is the 2025 model, which HEAD's sheet describes as a teardrop with an even balance. Padel Reference lists a Xenon 2026 as round with a low balance, which is a different racket in feel even if the name is the same. If you're comparing listings, check the year and the shape, not just the name.

Where the Xenon sits among HEAD's starter rackets

HEAD makes several rackets for the first year of padel, and they split on two things: foam and weight. The Head Vibe 2025 is 350 g on livelier Power Foam with an oversize head. The Evo Speed is 350 g on Soft Foam. The Head Cyber puts a soft core in a diamond for improvers who want to try the shape. The Xenon is the heavier, steadier version of the soft-foam teardrop.

Who will outgrow it

Anyone who starts hitting hard. Soft Foam and a smooth fibreglass face give comfort, not punch, and once you're finishing points overhead the Xenon will feel short of power. The next step up in HEAD's range is a Power Foam racket such as the Speed Team, and the best padel racket for intermediate page covers the wider field.

Not for you if

You already play regularly and want power from the racket, you want spin from a textured face, or you need the lightest possible racket. A Power Foam or carbon racket, or a 350 g starter, will suit you better.

Everything else for the first few games

Wrap an overgrip before you play; HEAD's tacky Padel Pro three-pack is made for padel handles, and padel grips has the rest. Run protector tape from the racket protector range along the top of the frame. A steady club ball like the Head Padel One tube suits new players, with more on padel balls.

Add a bag, such as the compact HEAD Base Padel Bag M, from padel bags and court shoes from padel shoes. Other first rackets are on best padel racket for beginners and cheap padel rackets, the whole range is under padel rackets, and the guide to choosing a padel racket explains shape, weight and balance from scratch.

Head Xenon Padel Racket 2025: questions people ask

Is the Head Xenon 2025 the same as the Xenon 2026?

Not as far as the listings show. Our Xenon 2025 is a teardrop with an even balance. Other shops list a Xenon 2026 as round with a low balance, so check the year and shape before comparing.

Is the Head Xenon a good racket for beginners?

Yes. HEAD pitches it at beginner and intermediate players, and the Soft Foam core and fibreglass face make it comfortable and forgiving. It is a little heavier than HEAD's 350 g starters, which some new players find steadier.

Head Xenon or Head Evo Speed: which should I buy?

Both are fibreglass teardrops on Soft Foam. The Evo Speed is 350 g with a 270 mm balance; the Xenon is 365 g with an even balance. Choose the Evo Speed for the lightest swing and the Xenon for a steadier feel.

How heavy is the Head Xenon?

HEAD lists 365 g with a 10 g tolerance, so between 355 and 375 g from the box. An overgrip and protector tape add a few grams.

Is the Head Xenon good for tennis elbow?

Its Soft Foam core is designed to damp vibration, and Tennis Nuts lists it among rackets for arm protection. No racket fixes an injury, though; if you have elbow pain, take advice before you play through it.
