Wilson Optix V2 Power Padel Racket (2026)

£69.98

The Wilson Optix V2 Power padel racket is a soft, fibreglass entry racket for newer players who want a little more attacking intent than the round Optix Lite. It weighs about 360 g, has a foam core and a 38 mm profile, and feels medium-soft in the hand.

Padelful scores it 7.1 overall, with rebound its best number at 8.2 and power at 6.4. Retailers disagree on whether it is round or teardrop, and on the balance, so we set out what each one says.

How the Optix V2 Power plays

Padelful's verdict is comfortable and forgiving. It lists easy ball output when you are defending, an arm-friendly feel and decent volleys, with the soft response also being the downside: little bite, less precise placement and no great punch on overheads. A soft fibreglass face like this is kind to a tired elbow and a mistimed swing, which is exactly what a first racket should be.

Do not expect it to hurt anyone. If you want power later, you will outgrow it, which is the point of a starter.

Grouped bar chart of Padelful ratings for the Wilson Optix V2 Power and Optix V2 Lite: power, control, rebound, manoeuvrability and sweet spot

Round or teardrop? What sellers say

Tennis Warehouse Europe lists a round head, while Padelmarket and Padelful call it a teardrop. Weight is 360 g with a 10 g tolerance on one sheet and 365 g on another, and balance is 265 mm (called low) on one and medium on another. Padelmarket also mentions a reinforced carbon frame, which Padelful lists as fibreglass.

Our catalogue tags it teardrop with a medium balance, in line with Padelful. Treat the exact figures as approximate and check the listing you are buying from.

Optix Power or Optix Lite

On Padelful's numbers the Power adds a touch of power (6.4 against 5.8) but loses ground on control, sweet spot and manoeuvrability next to the Optix V2 Lite. Choose the Lite if forgiveness and speed matter most and the Power if you want a bit more bite. Wilson's other soft options include the Accent LT, and a step up is the Match Point.
