Wilson Optix V2 Lite Padel Racket (2026)

£59.99

The Wilson Optix V2 Lite padel racket is a light, soft round racket for beginners and occasional players: 350 to 360 g, a fibreglass weave face, a Core Foam core and a round head that keeps the sweet spot in the middle. It is built to keep rallies going, not to end points quickly.

Padelful scores manoeuvrability 9.3, rebound 9.2 and sweet spot 9.1, with control at 7.4 and power at only 5.8. It is also sold as the Optix Lite V2 and in white and lilac colourways, and sellers split on whether the balance is medium or low.

What the Optix V2 Lite is

Optix is Wilson's entry range, V2 is its second version and Lite is the light round model. Padelful lists a fibreglass weave face over a Core Foam core with a soft feel, and one retailer sheet seen in search results gives a round shape, a 355 g weight, a smooth surface and a low-density foam core. We found no Wilson UK page to confirm those figures, so we state them as seller specifications.

Do not mix it up with the teardrop Optix Power V2. The Lite is round and aimed at comfort, and the Power is a teardrop with a bit more attacking intent.

Bar chart of Padelful ratings for the Wilson Optix V2 Lite 2026: manoeuvrability 9.3, rebound 9.2, sweet spot 9.1, control 7.4, power 5.8

How it plays: comfort first, power last

Padelful's pros are quick hands in net exchanges, a forgiving sweet spot on volleys and easy ball exit on defensive lobs. It calls the racket light and safety-first, with cushioned contact, which is exactly what a new player or a returning one with a tender arm wants.

The ceiling is low and Padelful says so. Smashes lack finishing punch, the racket is unstable against heavy incoming balls and there is limited bite on the víbora. Once you play every week, you will probably want more power.

Optix Lite V2 against the other Wilson starters

Of Wilson's entry rackets, the Optix pair have independent scores, and the Wilson Match Point and Blade Power rely on single stockist listings. For a step up with soft carbon, see the Wilson Carbon Force, and for a light, soft teardrop with a published specification, the Blade LS V4. Other brands' round starters are on our control padel racket page.

Who should skip the Optix V2 Lite

Anyone who wants to attack, and anyone who plans to play often for more than a season. Padelful's own cons are weak smashes and instability against heavy balls. Our beginner padel rackets page compares the starters, and our intermediate padel rackets page covers the next step.

Add a racket protector, a fresh overgrip from our padel grips range and proper padel balls and padel shoes. Our guide to choosing a padel racket explains shape and weight, and the full padel racket range has the rest.

Not for you if

You want power, you hit heavy smashes or you will outgrow a soft starter within a season. Padelful scores power 5.8 and lists weak smashes as a con.
