Bullpadel Open PWR (Open Power) Padel Racket

£59.49

The Bullpadel Open PWR, also sold as the Open Power, is Bullpadel's simplest diamond racket, for occasional players who like to attack and want something soft and easy to swing. It weighs about 360 to 370 g, carries its balance high, and pairs a smooth Polyglass fibreglass face with a SoftEva core.

It's the diamond twin of the round Open Control 25. Same simple build, weight moved up towards the tip.

Bullpadel Open PWR or Indiga PWR?

The Open PWR and the Indiga PWR are near twins on paper: same shape, same high balance, same weight band, same fibreglass face over a soft core. The difference is the surface. The Indiga PWR 26 has Bullpadel's rough 3D finish, which grips the ball a little more on slice; the Open PWR is smooth. The Discover Power is a third relative, smooth-faced like the Open but listed with a carbon frame.

There's one more difference worth knowing. Padelful has tested the Indiga PWR (6.9 overall, 7.0 for power, 6.1 for handling), but nobody has published scores for the Open PWR that we could find. So we're describing what the build tells us, not inventing numbers: easy to swing, soft at impact, a bit of extra weight in the head, not much spin.

How the Bullpadel Open PWR plays

With the weight towards the tip, an overhead carries more of the racket's mass into the ball, so a decent swing gets a bit more pace than a round racket would give. The soft core and fibreglass face keep the contact cushioned, which takes some of the sting out of a mistimed shot.

The cost is the usual one for a diamond. The sweet spot sits higher on the face and the head feels heavier on fast volleys and low defensive balls, so a beginner who isn't yet timing the ball well will make more errors than with the round Open Control. That's not a flaw in the racket; it's what the shape does.

Who is the Open PWR for?

Players who get on court now and then, enjoy the net, and come from a racket sport where they already time the ball: tennis and squash players especially. Shops list it for beginners and improvers, which is fair for that kind of beginner. Our best padel racket for beginners page explains why most first-timers are better off round, and the diamond padel rackets and cheap padel racket pages show the alternatives.

Not for you if

You've never played a racket sport, you mostly defend, or you want the most forgiving racket for your money. The round Open Control 25 or Indiga CTR 26 will help you more in your first season.

Where to go after the Open PWR

If the diamond suits you, the next steps firm up the materials while keeping the shape. The Indiga PWR adds a rough surface for spin; the Ionic Power 26 moves to a Glaphite face and MultiEVA core for more pace; the Vertex Advance 26 brings the Vertex shape at club level.

What else you need with the Open PWR

A fresh overgrip makes any racket nicer to hold; a pack of Bullpadel GB-1201 overgrips will last an occasional player a long time, and the padel grips page explains when to change one. A diamond head meets the floor on low balls, so a strip of Bullpadel frame protection is worth fitting, and a racket cover keeps it safe in transit.

Bring a fresh tube of balls, such as Bullpadel Premium Pro; our padel balls page explains why it matters. Proper padel shoes with a herringbone sole grip sand-filled turf far better than running trainers. Every Bullpadel we sell is on the Bullpadel rackets page, the whole padel racket range sits on one page, and our guide to choosing a padel racket explains the basics.

Bullpadel Open PWR (Open Power) Padel Racket: questions people ask

Is the Bullpadel Open PWR the same as the Open Power?

Yes. PWR is Bullpadel's short form of Power, and shops use both names for the same diamond racket in the Open line.

Is the Bullpadel Open PWR good for beginners?

For a beginner from tennis or squash who already times the ball well, it can be. For someone completely new, a round racket such as the Open Control 25 or the Indiga CTR 26 is easier to learn on.

What is the difference between the Open PWR and the Open Control?

Same simple build, different shape. The Open PWR is a diamond with the balance high for more pace on overheads; the Open Control is round with a low balance for forgiveness and control.

How long will a Bullpadel Open PWR last?

For an occasional player, several seasons. Fit frame protection, keep it in a cover and out of hot cars, and replace the overgrip when it goes shiny.

How heavy is the Bullpadel Open PWR?

Shops list it at about 360 to 370 g with a high balance, so it feels heavier in the hand than a round racket of the same weight.

Has the Bullpadel Open PWR been independently tested?

Not that we could find. Its close sibling, the Indiga PWR 26, scores 6.9 overall on Padelful, and the two share the same shape, weight and soft fibreglass build.
