It is for advanced and strong intermediate players who like to attack but want a gentler racket.

Canyon Pro Attack Soft review: attacking shape, kinder feel

Padelful's scores are rebound 9.0, power 8.5, control 8.1, sweet spot 7.9 and manoeuvrability 7.4. The reviewer likes the lively ball exit, the comfortable medium-soft feel and how stable it is at the net. The warnings are that it is slow in fast defence, wants clean wrist technique and has a sweet spot that is not huge.

That makes it a racket for a player who volleys and smashes well and wants less shock than a firm 24K racket gives. The core is soft, the face is 12K and the head is a diamond, so the ball comes off quickly but the contact feels less harsh.

Canyon Pro Attack Soft or Canyon Pro Attack 2.0?

Both are diamonds in the 350 to 370 g band, and manoeuvrability is almost identical. The difference is the build and the numbers it produces. The Canyon Pro Attack 2.0 has a 24K face over a High Density EVA Pro core and a medium-hard feel, and Padelful gives it power of 9.5. The Soft drops to a 12K face and a low-density core, power of 8.5, and gains the best rebound score of the pair.

Pick the 2.0 if you want every last bit of smash and can live with a firm feel. Pick the Soft if comfort matters or your elbow dislikes shock. The Enebe Mustang Silver 3K is another head-heavy attacker at a similar level. The Soft is also the sensible Drop Shot to compare with the Black Crown Special Elite, a lively soft-cored teardrop.

Beginners, defenders and anyone who wants a big forgiving sweet spot. A diamond head is demanding however soft the core, and the review says defence is slow. Newer players should start with our beginner padel rackets page, and stronger players can compare diamonds on the diamond padel racket and advanced padel rackets pages.

Not for you if

You are still learning, you defend a lot or you want a big sweet spot. The review lists slow defence, a demanding wrist technique and a modest sweet spot.
