Black Crown Special Elite Padel Racket (2026)

£214.20

The Black Crown Special Elite padel racket is a lively all-round teardrop for advanced players: a 3K carbon face with a Sandspin finish over a Soft Black EVA core, listed at 355 to 370 g. Padelful scores it 8.3 overall, and its rebound score of 9.0 is the highest of any Black Crown we have covered.

It is a racket that gives the ball back quickly. The reviewer praises a fast ball exit, lively volleys and a forgiving sweet spot, and warns that it is less stable against heavy shots and that power needs clean timing.

Special Elite review: quick off the strings, easy on mishits

Padelful's scores run rebound 9.0, sweet spot 8.3, power 8.1, control 8.0 and manoeuvrability 7.9. In plain English, the ball leaves the face fast, off-centre hits stay useful and the volley comes alive without much swing. The core is soft, which cushions the contact and keeps the feel medium.

The cons are the flip side of that liveliness. Heavy balls can push it around, touch shots can feel eager and the reviewer says power needs clean timing. If you are a patient, controlled player who likes to feel the ball sink into the racket, this is not the one.

What the Special Elite is made of, and what is not published

Sources agree on the build: a teardrop head, a 3K carbon face with a Sandspin texture, a Soft EVA Black core and a carbon frame with a 38 mm profile. Weight is 355 to 370 g, or 360 to 370 g on one shop, and balance is medium on retailers and described as controlled and not strongly head-heavy by Padelful. Nobody gives a millimetre figure. We found no 24K version.

The Special line has several rackets, and the Enebe Mustang Silver 3K is a head-heavy rival from another brand, and the Enebe Mustang Esmerald 15K is a lively spin-friendly one. The Special Max is the harder-faced 2026 sibling, the Drop Shot Canyon Pro Attack Soft is a soft-cored diamond rival, and the Special Global is a separate listing we have not matched to a spec sheet. For the other powerful Black Crowns, see the Patron Kore and the Piton Epic Energy.

Who should skip the Special Elite

Beginners, players who like a stable, planted racket against heavy hitters and anyone who needs an exact balance point. The soft core and lively face are forgiving on mishits but less so against pace. Newer players should look at the beginner padel rackets page, while the advanced padel rackets and teardrop padel rackets pages show where the Elite sits in the field.

Not for you if

You face heavy hitters and want a planted racket, you are new to padel or you need a verified balance point. The review says it is less stable against heavy shots.

Setting up a Special Elite

Fit a racket protector, then a fresh overgrip from the padel grips range. A lively face rewards consistent padel balls, padel shoes keep your feet set for the timing it needs and a padel bag with a thermal pocket protects the face.

Black Crown Special Elite Padel Racket (2026): questions people ask

Is the Black Crown Special Elite the same as the Special Max?

No. They are separate 2026 rackets in the Special line. The Elite has a 3K carbon face and a soft core, and the Max is listed with an 18K aluminised carbon face.

Is the Black Crown Special Elite good for intermediate players?

It is aimed at advanced players, but the soft core and forgiving sweet spot make it more approachable than most. A strong intermediate with clean timing can use it.

Is the Special Elite round or teardrop?

Teardrop. Padelful and Padelshop agree, so it sits between a round control racket and a diamond.

Does the Special Elite have a 24K carbon face?

No source we found says so. Padelful and Padelshop list a 3K carbon face with a Sandspin finish.

How heavy is the Black Crown Special Elite?

Listings give 355 to 370 g, and one shop says 360 to 370 g. Pick by feel in hand.

Is the Special Elite stable against heavy shots?

Less than a firmer racket. Padelful lists it as less stable against heavy shots, so it favours quick reactions over bracing.
