Joma Blast Pro SFT Padel Racket

£163.99

The Joma Blast Pro SFT padel racket is the soft, comfortable version of Joma's Blast Pro: a hybrid-shaped racket with a 12K carbon face, a Black EVA core and a weight around 350 to 370 g, for intermediate and advanced players who want a big sweet spot and a gentle feel on the arm.

SFT stands for soft, and it's the one to read as a counterpart to the harder Blast Pro HRD. It trades crispness and smash power for forgiveness, which is a very good trade if your arm or your timing needs the help.

  • Black EVA soft core
  • 38 mm profile
  • Rough surface texture

What the sources agree on, and what they don't

On materials the sources line up. Tennis Nuts lists a Black EVA core with a 12K carbon face and a 100% carbon tubular frame, a rough surface texture, a 38 mm profile and Joma's Aerobump and Dual Tech Frame technologies. Padelful's review confirms the 12K carbon face and frame and the Black EVA SFT core, and describes the feel as medium-soft.

Weight, balance and shape are where they split. Weight is quoted at 350 to 360 g, 355 to 365 g and 360 to 370 g, so every source overlaps at 360 g. Tennis Nuts says high balance and head-heavy, one retailer says medium, and the Padelful review doesn't give a figure. Joma and most shops call the shape hybrid; Padelful calls it a teardrop. We've given ranges rather than pick a winner.

How it plays

Padelful's review is the most detailed we found, and it's one reviewer's view with one community review behind it. It scores the Blast Pro Soft 2026 at 8.3 for power, 8.8 for control, 9 for sweet spot and 8.9 for rebound, with manoeuvrability the low mark at 7.5. Its praise is for easy depth on defensive lobs, a forgiving sweet spot on blocks and a ball exit that's kind to the arm. Its complaints are slower handling on fast volleys and a less decisive smash.

That matches what the 'soft' in the name promises. If you build points from the back and mix defence with net play, it should suit. If you want to finish the point with an overhead, the harder version is the likelier fit.

Not for you if

You're a beginner who wants a cheap first racket, or you're a hard hitter who lives on the smash. At the price of a 12K carbon racket it's more than a first racket needs, and the soft core gives a less crisp response than a hard one.

Who it suits

Players who've moved past a first racket and want to learn control: a good candidate for the step into intermediate rackets, or a comfortable option on the advanced padel rackets list for players with a sore elbow. It also sits among our carbon padel rackets and the wider teardrop and hybrid rackets. If you'd rather see every option, start from padel racket.

Grip size isn't published by the shops we read, so check the handle on the day. A fresh overgrip from padel grips is the easiest way to tune it, and court shoes from padel shoes matter as much as the racket for a soft-handed game. If you'd rather have a round racket with a firmer feel, Joma's Tournament Pro Iconic is the balanced alternative.

Looking after it

A hybrid with a carbon frame appreciates a racket protector on the rim, because walls and floors are hard on frames. Pack it in a padel bag such as the Tour L, and open a tube of padel balls with it, since a soft core likes a lively ball.

Joma Blast Pro SFT Padel Racket: questions people ask

What does SFT mean on the Joma Blast Pro SFT?

Soft. The SFT has a softer Black EVA core than the Blast Pro HRD, which is the hard version, so it is more forgiving and gentler on the arm.

Is the Joma Blast Pro SFT the same as the Blast Pro Soft?

Yes. Joma writes SFT and many shops and reviewers write Soft. It is the same racket, and the 2026 version is the one reviewed.

How heavy is the Joma Blast Pro SFT?

Sources quote between 350 and 370 g, and every source overlaps at 360 g. Weights vary a little from racket to racket.

Is the Joma Blast Pro SFT good for beginners?

It is aimed at intermediate and advanced players. A beginner would be better served by a cheaper, lighter racket first.

Should I buy the Joma Blast Pro SFT or the Blast Pro HRD?

Choose the SFT for comfort and a forgiving sweet spot, and the HRD if you want a more direct, powerful response and can handle a firmer racket.
