Bullpadel Ionic Control 26 Padel Racket

£106.07

The Bullpadel Ionic Control is a round, low-balance racket for improving players who want fewer unforced errors and an easy ball in defence. The 2026 edition weighs 365 to 375 g and pairs Glaphite faces, Bullpadel's mix of glass and graphite, with a medium-soft MultiEVA core.

It sits one step above the beginner Indiga and one step below the carbon rackets, and Padelful scores it 8.1 overall, with a sweet spot of 8.7. For a racket that makes defence feel easy, that's a strong number.

Ionic Control, Ionic Light or Ionic Power?

Bullpadel builds the Ionic in three shapes from the same materials. The Control is round with a low balance; the Ionic Light 26 is a teardrop at 350 to 360 g; the Ionic Power 26 is a diamond with the weight up near the tip. Glaphite faces and frame, MultiEVA core and a medium-soft touch are common to all three.

Padelful's numbers make the choice fairly clear. The Control and the Light tie on power (6.5), rebound (9.1) and handling (8.6); the Control has the bigger sweet spot (8.7 against 8.4) and the Light a touch more control. The Power gains pace and loses almost two points of handling. For most improvers the Control is the safe pick, and the Light is the one for lighter players or anyone who wants a slightly livelier racket.

Bullpadel Ionic Control review: easy defence, fewer errors

Picture a long rally from the back glass. The Ionic Control is quick in the hand (manoeuvrability 8.6), the face is forgiving well away from the centre, and the ball comes off easily enough that a defensive lob still reaches the back of the court. Padelful's review sums it up as a racket that makes defence easy and keeps the errors down, and PadelVerdict praised the same big sweet spot and quick handling.

The trade is at the other end. Smash finishing is limited, the overhead has a lower ceiling, and the response is controlled rather than aggressive. If your plan is to end points with your own smash, you'll reach the limit of this racket quickly.

What is a Glaphite face?

Glaphite is Bullpadel's name for a face that mixes glass fibre with graphite. It sits between the fibreglass Polyglass on the beginner Indiga CTR 26 and the carbon weaves on the pro rackets: firmer and a little more precise than fibreglass, with more give than carbon. Think of it as the bridge you cross between your first racket and your first carbon one.

Who is the Ionic Control for?

Players in their second or third season who want a step up from a beginner racket without losing forgiveness, and anyone who builds points with placement rather than power. Shops can't agree on the level: Tennisnuts lists it as intermediate, Central Sports as advanced. Padelful's reviewer would also hand it to advanced players who organise the point from the right side. The control padel racket page lists other round frames, and the best padel racket for intermediate players page shows the wider picture.

When you outgrow it, the natural carbon step up for a control player is the Neuron 02 27. Outside Bullpadel, Head's round Gravity Pro keeps the shape and adds a carbon-woven face.

Not for you if

You finish most points overhead, or you're buying your very first racket on a tight budget, where the Indiga CTR or the Open Control 25 does the job for less. If you want more pace from the same family, the Ionic Power is the one to look at.

Kit to go with the Ionic Control

A control player's hands do a lot of work, so keep the handle fresh: the Bullpadel GR-1210 grip replaces a tired stock grip, and the padel grips page explains overgrips against replacement grips. Low defensive scoops are this racket's bread and butter, so fit a Bullpadel Pro frame protector and see the racket protector page for more.

A tube of Bullpadel's natural-felt Next keeps your lobs honest, and the padel balls page covers how long a tube stays lively. The Ionic racket bag and the Ionic 26I men's shoe share the family name; every shoe for sand-filled turf is on our padel shoes page.

Bullpadel Ionic Control 26 Padel Racket: questions people ask

Is the Bullpadel Ionic Control 26 the same as the 2025 Ionic Control?

It is the same line in its 2026 version: round, low balance, Glaphite faces and a MultiEVA core. If you liked the 2025 racket, the 26 is the natural replacement.

Is the Bullpadel Ionic Control good for intermediate players?

Yes, especially intermediates who defend and place the ball. It is forgiving, quick in the hand and easy to play deep. Players who want to finish with the smash should look at the Ionic Power or a carbon racket.

What is the difference between the Ionic Control and the Ionic Light?

The Control is round and 365 to 375 g; the Light is a teardrop at 350 to 360 g. Padelful scores them almost the same, with the Control slightly ahead on sweet spot and the Light slightly ahead on control.

How should I look after a Bullpadel Ionic Control?

Fit frame protection, keep it in a cover, and avoid leaving it in a hot car. Replace the grip or overgrip as soon as it turns shiny, because a slippery handle makes you squeeze harder.

How heavy is the Bullpadel Ionic Control 26?

Bullpadel lists 365 to 375 g with a low balance, so it feels lighter in the hand than its weight suggests. Lighter players can drop 15 g by choosing the Ionic Light.

Should I buy the Ionic Control or the Indiga CTR?

Buy the Indiga CTR for a first racket and the Ionic Control once you have played a season or two. The Ionic adds a firmer Glaphite face and a more refined feel while keeping the round, forgiving shape.
