Bullpadel Ionic Light 26 Padel Racket

£144.99

The Bullpadel Ionic Light is a 350 to 360 g teardrop for lighter players and improvers who want a racket that's quick in the hand and easy on the arm. It shares the Glaphite faces and medium-soft MultiEVA core of the rest of the Ionic line, with about 15 g less to swing than the round Ionic Control.

Padelful scores the 2026 edition 8.1 overall, with handling at 8.6 and rebound at 9.1. It's unisex, and it sits in the same weight class as Bullpadel's women's editions, which makes it a sensible pick for anyone who finds 370 g hard work by the third set.

What 15 g lighter means on court

Fifteen grams doesn't sound like much until the score is 5-5 and your arm is tired. A lighter racket comes up faster for the volley at the net, it's easier to control on the backswing, and it puts less load on the shoulder and forearm over a long session. The trade is plough-through: a heavier racket carries more weight into the ball on its own, so the Ionic Light asks you to swing for your depth.

That puts it in a useful spot. It's lighter than the Indiga CTR 26 and the round Ionic Control 26, and it weighs the same as Bullpadel's women's rackets such as the Vertex 05 W 27 without the stiff carbon of a pro frame. For a light racket with a carbon face from another brand, see last season's Dunlop Galactica Lite, or Wilson's Bela LS V3.

Bullpadel Ionic Light review: quick hands, gentle feel

Fast exchanges at the net are where it shines. Padelful's testers found it very manoeuvrable, comfortable at impact and controlled on volleys and blocks; PadelScout called it precision-first. The rebound score of 9.1 means the ball comes off the face easily on defensive shots, which suits players who lob and reset rather than slug it out.

What it won't do is hand you power. PadelVerdict's line, that it doesn't hand out free power, is fair: the smash needs a proper swing, depth from the back needs technique, and there's not much punch at the net. Lighter players often find that a fair price for a racket they can swing freely for two hours.

Ionic Light or Ionic Control?

Padelful scores them almost identically: the same power (6.5), rebound (9.1) and handling (8.6), with the Light slightly ahead on control (8.0 against 7.8) and the Control slightly ahead on sweet spot (8.7 against 8.4). The real differences are shape and weight. The Control is round and heavier, the most forgiving of the pair; the Light is a teardrop, livelier, with the sweet spot a touch higher for overheads.

Pick the Light if you're lighter, play at the net or want a little more life in the racket. Pick the Control if you defend from the back and want the biggest forgiving zone. If you want to go the other way entirely, the diamond Ionic Power 26 trades handling for pace.

Is the Ionic Light a women's racket?

It's sold as unisex, but it sits squarely in the weight class the brands use for their women's lines, so it's worth a look if that's what you came for. The step up at the same weight is a pro frame such as Gemma Triay's Elite 02 hybrid, with a Fibrix face and a firmer feel; the older Elite Light W 23 is the softer, springier Elite. Our women's padel rackets page explains what the brands actually mean by a women's racket, and the best padel racket for intermediate players page lists other medium-soft teardrops.

Not for you if

You're a strong attacker who wants the racket to add pace, or you prefer the solid feel of a heavier frame. A 350 g racket rewards a full swing; it won't do the work for you. Complete beginners on a tight budget can start with the Indiga CTR and step up later.

Kit for the Ionic Light

A fresh overgrip adds a little cushioning to an already comfortable racket; a pack of fluorescent pink Bullpadel overgrips is hard to lose in the kit bag, and the padel grips page covers the rest. Bullpadel frame protection tape saves the head from floor scrapes; see the racket protector page for more.

Balls go flat, so buy by the box: the Bullpadel Premium Pro dozen suits damp UK courts, and our padel balls page explains why fresh tubes matter. The Ionic racket bag matches the family, and the Ionic 26V women's shoe is built for the court; every style is on our padel shoes page.

Bullpadel Ionic Light 26 Padel Racket: questions people ask

Is the Bullpadel Ionic Light 26 the same as the 2025 Ionic Light?

It is the 2026 version of the same line: a light Glaphite teardrop with a MultiEVA core. If you liked the 2025 racket, the 26 is its natural replacement.

Who is the Bullpadel Ionic Light best for?

Lighter players, juniors moving up to adult rackets, and improvers who play at the net and want quick hands. It is unisex but weighs the same as most women's editions.

How does the Ionic Light compare with the Ionic Power?

The Ionic Power is a 365 to 375 g diamond that Padelful scores higher for power (7.8 against 6.5) but much lower for handling (6.9 against 8.6). The Light is quicker and more forgiving; the Power hits harder.

How should I look after a Bullpadel Ionic Light?

Tape the frame, keep it in a cover, and keep it out of hot cars. Change the overgrip when it turns shiny so you are not squeezing the handle harder than you need to.

How much does the Bullpadel Ionic Light 26 weigh?

Bullpadel lists 350 to 360 g with a medium balance, about 15 g lighter than the Ionic Control and Ionic Power.

Is the Ionic Light good for players with arm trouble?

It is one of the gentler rackets in the range: light, with a medium-soft core and a Glaphite face that testers found comfortable at impact. A lighter racket is an equipment choice, not a treatment, so take advice if your arm is already sore.
