Bullpadel Elite Light Padel Racket (Elite Light W 23)

£62.82

The Bullpadel Elite Light padel racket, sold as the Elite Light W 23, is the 2023 light edition of Gemma Triay's Elite: a teardrop of about 350 g with a soft feel, a 3D Grain rough face and a CarbonTube carbon frame, for women and lighter players who want a quick, lively racket rather than a heavy one.

It's three seasons older than today's Elite 02. Padelful's scores show what that means: still one of the quickest Bullpadels in the hand, with less control and a smaller sweet spot than the current model.

Elite Light W 23 or the new Elite 02?

Padelful scored the 2023 Elite Light at 9.5 for rebound and 9.2 for manoeuvrability, both higher than the Elite 02 27, which scores 8.8 and 8.2. The new racket wins everywhere else: control 8.0 against 7.0, sweet spot 8.4 against 7.9 and power 7.6 against 7.1. Bullpadel has moved the Elite towards precision and a bigger face (537 cm² on the 02).

So the older racket is the one for players who want the ball to fly off the face with very little effort and a racket that's light in the hand. The Elite 02 is the better tool once you want to place the ball precisely.

How the Elite Light plays

Light and springy. A soft feel and a rebound score of 9.5 mean the ball leaves the face fast on blocks and gentle swings, which helps lighter players get depth from the back. Padelful's reviewer noted how comfortably the grip sits in the hand, and the rough 3D Grain surface adds a little bite to slice.

The cost is precision: a control score of 7.0 means the springy face can carry the ball long when you want it short. Players who like to drop the ball dead at the net will find that frustrating.

What the Elite Light is made of

Sources agree on the teardrop shape, the weight of about 350 g, the 38 mm profile and the CarbonTube carbon frame. They disagree on the face and core. Tennisnuts lists a Glaphite glass-and-carbon outer layer over MultiEva; Padelful lists a Fibrix hybrid face over EVA; Padel Nuestro mentions a dual-density core. All three describe a glass-and-carbon blend over foam, which is what produces the soft, lively feel.

Who should buy the Elite Light?

Women and lighter players at intermediate level who want a quick, comfortable teardrop that gives easy depth, and anyone happy to buy an older season for a light Elite. Tennisnuts also pitches it at players who simply want a light, easy-to-use racket. Our padel rackets for women, cheap padel racket and teardrop padel racket pages show the alternatives.

Not for you if

You want precise placement and a big sweet spot, you hit hard and want the racket to control a fast ball, or you'd rather have a current-season racket. The Elite 02 and the Wonder 27 both score higher for control.

Kit for an Elite Light

A light racket needs a secure grip, so keep a fresh overgrip on it: the fluorescent pink Bullpadel overgrip is a single, and our padel grips page explains thickness. Frame tape saves the edge on low scoops; see the racket protector page.

For balls, a tube of Bullpadel Next suits club play, and our padel balls page explains when a tube has gone flat. The women's padel shoes and the full padel shoes range cover grip on sand-dressed turf. The Bullpadel rackets page, the full padel racket range and our guide to choosing a padel racket cover the rest.

Bullpadel Elite Light Padel Racket (Elite Light W 23): questions people ask

Is the Bullpadel Elite Light the same as the Elite 02?

No. The Elite Light W 23 is the 2023 light edition of the Elite; the Elite 02 27 is the 2027 model on a new mould with a bigger 537 cm² face. Padelful scores the older racket higher for handling and rebound and lower for control and sweet spot.

Is the Bullpadel Elite Light good for intermediate players?

Yes, especially lighter intermediates who want easy depth and quick hands. Padelful's reviewer called it an attractive choice for intermediates stepping up.

Elite Light W 23 or Wonder 27: which should I choose?

Both are very quick in the hand (9.2 on Padelful). The Wonder 27 has more control and a bigger sweet spot; the Elite Light has more rebound and a little more power. Defenders lean Wonder; players who want free depth lean Elite Light.

How do I look after a Bullpadel Elite Light?

Keep it in a cover away from heat, fit frame tape to the edge and change the overgrip regularly. The rough 3D Grain finish wears with use, so do not scrub it.

How heavy is the Bullpadel Elite Light W 23?

Tennisnuts lists 350 g within 10 g; Padelful gives 345 to 360 g. The balance is medium.

Why is the Elite Light listed as a 2023 racket?

It is the 2023 season edition of Bullpadel's light Elite. Later seasons moved to the Elite W, the Elite Woman 26 and now the Elite 02 27.
