Dunlop Galactica Padel Racket: Lite (2025)

£120.82

The Dunlop Galactica padel racket in its Lite version is a light hybrid for players who already have a game: 16K carbon faces with a rough, spin-friendly texture over a soft EVA core, listed at about 350 g with a medium, fairly even balance. It was part of Dunlop's 2025 Galactica range, which the 2026 FX range has since replaced.

Sellers do not agree on everything. Weight runs from 340 to 365 g depending on the listing, one stockist calls the shape a teardrop, and the level label swings between intermediate and advanced. We say where below, so you can buy it knowing what the spec sheet can and cannot promise.

What the Galactica Lite is, and what it is not

Galactica was Dunlop's 2025 line, and the Lite is its lightweight adult hybrid. Tennisnuts describes it as counter-attacking: a hybrid head and an even weight spread that make it quick on the hand at the net, with the rough face and control holes there to help you put spin on the ball.

Mind the name. The Galactica OS Lite is a different racket, round with a lower balance, and older Galactica Lites from 2022 and 2023 are still floating around the web. This page covers the 2025 hybrid. If you want the newer Dunlop shapes, the Dunlop FX Lite belongs to the 2026 range.

Spec card for the Dunlop Galactica Lite 2025 padel racket: hybrid shape, medium to even balance, about 350 g, 16K carbon face, Tri-Max frame, soft EVA core, 38 mm

How it plays: handy first, powerful second

Think of a racket that does its best work when you are in a hurry. A light frame and a balance close to the middle mean quick volleys, quick blocks and a bandeja that does not tire your wrist by the third set. The soft EVA core adds comfort on long rallies, which Tennisnuts says absorbs shock for a comfortable feel on longer rallies.

What you give up is easy to guess. Light, medium-balance hybrids rarely have the raw mass of a head-heavy diamond, so a flat smash has to come from your swing rather than the frame. Padelful rates the older Galactica family well for control, and that is the right way to think about the Lite: placement and touch first.

Where the listings disagree

Tennisnuts quotes 350 g with a ten-gram tolerance, hybrid shape, medium and even balance, 38 mm and an advanced level. Padel Nuestro UK says about 350 g in its text and 365 g in its feature list, hybrid, medium balance, and describes the racket as advanced or competition. Padelshop's listing, as it appears in search results, gives 340 to 355 g and a teardrop shape for intermediate players. The face is 16K carbon on most pages, though one spec table says 15K.

None of these is a scandal. Padel rackets vary from the printed weight, and retailers copy different parts of the brand sheet. The honest reading is a light hybrid in the 340 to 365 g band, medium to even balance, and a level that depends on who is selling it.

Galactica Lite or another Galactica

Dunlop sold the 2025 range in several weights. The Lite is among the lightest adult options, so pick it if arm comfort matters most. The Galactica Pro is heavier and head-heavy, built for players who want the racket to carry the shot. The Galactica Team is the carbon all-rounder at 365 g, the Galactica Pro LS the lighter Pro,. For a lighter entry diamond there is the Tristorm Lite. Complete beginners can start with Dunlop's round entry racket, the Megamax, instead. Younger players are better served by the Galactica Junior.

If you like the hybrid idea but want a wider choice, browse the teardrop and hybrid padel rackets or the full carbon padel racket range.

Who should skip the Galactica Lite

Big hitters who win points with the smash will find it light on authority. Complete beginners are paying for carbon and a rough face they will not use yet; a soft fibreglass first racket does the job for less, and our beginner padel rackets page lists the options. And if you need a 2026 racket for a league, remember this one is last season's.

Not for you if

You want the heaviest, most head-heavy racket on court, you are brand new to padel or you need the current 2026 range. Players moving up from the basics can compare it with our intermediate padel rackets.

Setting it up

A rough, textured face earns its keep through spin, but it also scrapes. Fit a racket protector on day one and swap the grip for a fresh overgrip from our padel grips range once it feels slick. A decent can of padel balls will teach you more about the racket than any spec sheet, and the right padel shoes and a padel bag finish the kit.

Dunlop Galactica Padel Racket: Lite (2025): questions people ask

Is the Dunlop Galactica Lite the same as the Galactica OS Lite?

No. The Galactica Lite is a hybrid with medium to even balance. The OS Lite is a round racket with a lower balance. They are separate rackets with their own pages.

Is the Dunlop Galactica Lite good for intermediate players?

Yes, in the right hands. Padelshop aims it at intermediates, while Tennisnuts and Padel Nuestro UK label it advanced. Its light weight and soft core suit improvers who value comfort and touch.

Is the Galactica Lite better than the Galactica Pro?

It depends what you want. The Lite is lighter and more manoeuvrable; the Pro is heavier and head-heavy, so it adds power. Choose the Lite for comfort and speed at the net.

How heavy is the Dunlop Galactica Lite?

Tennisnuts lists 350 g with a 10 g tolerance. Padelshop gives 340 to 355 g and Padel Nuestro UK shows both 350 and 365 g, so expect roughly that band.

Is the Dunlop Galactica Lite round or teardrop?

Most listings call it hybrid, sitting between round and teardrop. Padelshop lists it as teardrop, so the shape is not a settled fact across sellers.

Is the Galactica Lite still current?

It is the 2025 model. Dunlop moved to the FX range for 2026, with the Galactica name continuing only on limited editions, so this is last season's racket.
