Hirostar Alien Core Padel Racket

£295

The Hirostar Alien Core padel racket is a diamond-shaped racket for advanced and strong intermediate players: a 12K carbon face over an EVA Black core, a medium to high balance and a listed weight of about 365 to 380 g. Retailers describe it as a more controlled version of the Alien Pro, which uses a 24K face.

We found no independent review of the Alien Core, so everything on this page comes from retailer listings. Where they disagree, on weight, balance and frame, the page says so.

What the Alien Core is made of

Listings agree on a diamond shape, a 12K carbon face and an EVA Black core. One gives the profile as 38 mm, the head as 485 cm2 and the length as 45.5 cm. Weight is 365 to 380 g on some pages and 365 to 375 g on others. Balance is medium on one and high on another, and no one gives a figure in millimetres.

The frame is the third disagreement. One listing says a 3K carbon frame and another says 100 per cent carbon fibre. Neither is wrong, but they cannot both be the whole story, so check the box when it arrives.

Alien Core or Alien Pro?

Retailers pitch the Core as the controlled version of the Hirostar Alien Pro. The Pro uses a 24K face, which is stiffer, and the Core swaps that for the more elastic 12K. One listing adds that the Core is slightly easier to manoeuvre in defence and transitions, and another puts its best contact zone in the upper middle of the face.

If you would rather have a round racket, see the Hirostar Solar. If you want an 18K diamond instead, the Hirostar Redstone is one. Buying for a child? The Hirostar Junior Alien is the light version. Choose the Core if you want a diamond that is a little easier to live with. Choose the Pro if you want the stiffer face, or look at the older Blackstone diamond if you want an 18K face. For a lighter, softer teardrop from the same brand, the Hirostar Andromeda is the easier option. Other diamonds worth comparing are the Enebe Suburban Green 12K and the Drop Shot Canyon Pro Attack 2.0.

Who should skip the Alien Core

Beginners, players who defend a lot and anyone who wants an independent review before buying. A diamond with a high balance is demanding, and nobody has published a test of this one. Newer players should start with our beginner padel rackets page, and stronger players can compare diamonds on the diamond padel racket and advanced padel rackets pages.

Not for you if

You are still learning, you need a verified balance or frame, or you want a reviewed racket. We found no independent review and the listings disagree on weight, balance and frame.

Setting up an Alien Core

Fit a racket protector and a fresh overgrip from the padel grips range. Consistent padel balls and good padel shoes help you get set for a high-balance diamond, and a padel bag with a thermal pocket protects the face.

Hirostar Alien Core Padel Racket: questions people ask

Is the Hirostar Alien Core the same as the Alien Pro?

No. They are in the same family, but retailers say the Core has a 12K face and is more controlled, while the Pro has a stiffer 24K face.

Is the Hirostar Alien Core good for intermediate players?

Retailers say advanced or strong intermediate. A diamond with a high balance is demanding, so it suits an intermediate who already attacks.

Is the Hirostar Alien Core round or diamond?

Diamond. Every listing we found agrees, so expect a smaller sweet spot than a round racket.

How heavy is the Hirostar Alien Core?

Listings give about 365 to 380 g, and two give 365 to 375 g. Check the weight on the listing you buy.

Is the Alien Core head heavy?

One listing says high balance and another says medium. Nobody publishes a figure in millimetres.

Is there a review of the Hirostar Alien Core?

We found none that was independent. Padelful has no page for it, so this page is built from retailer specs.
